I think it would be nice to see people assigned to your group in game on the mini map and larger map better. For instance we are all blue triangles depicted on the map, if possible could we have party members (People in a group) with a different colored triangle such as green or whatever color works best. This game is very group based and if we could stick with our friends a little better without running around the map looking for them i just think it would be a great addition to the game and make it funner to play more cooperatively with your friends. Thanks!

This is a good idea. It would be great if your own position would be marked with an other collor than white coz grid marking is also white and it becomes confusing

Except that 'your buddies' should also include the non-grouped guys you dropped with. This would be used in an exclusionary fashion more often than not -- "Oh, that friendly Atlas is surrounded by three enemies, but his triangle is green so it's not one of the guys I'm grouped with. I'll just go find my buddies and leave him to die."

When the game moves to 12v12, there will be a lance feature implemented that gives each friendly lance a different color triangle. The devs haven't stated whether you can determine who is in your lance before the match, but I would assume you can.

If you decided to only help your buddies other than people that are not in your group then that's your right but to say we shouldn't have different colored triangles on group members just because some people will only stick with there buddies and only help there buddies then i think your wrong. Yea i'm sure there will be some people like that, that will only help there buddies but the opposite is true too. I think people being able to stick together easier and work more cooperatively will enhance the team work aspect of the game play rather than have the negative effect you seem to think it will have.

Being able to stick together and work more cooperatively isn't a bad thing.

Doing that only with your buddies and excluding the "pugs" IS a bad thing.

The groups I drop with don't always have eight, so we regularly have "pugs" filling out the drop. We inform them that we are on a team and how many of us there are, and suggest they stick with us. We inform them of our major movement plans and hope they come along, as they will make us stronger, despite not being in our group. If we see them getting back-shot, we tell them, and we help kill the offender. We make an effort not only to win, but to have as many as possible survive each drop, including the "pugs" that drop with us.

Tell me how having different-colored triangles for your group buddies would help do that.

anyone playing battle field 3 can assure you, that having squads helps your overall teamwork

your argument with not helping people that are in your team but not in your squad is proven wrong every second on any good bf3 server.

But if you ever play a match you should know, that sometimes when you tell strategy to others, not everyone hear this. if you have your buddies you can trust them, and make good strategy. teamwork with few person is teamwork to all team too. making squads can very help to make good strategy to big amount of players.

I agree with the OP... have the buddies you are in a group with have (orange? sure... let's go with that color!) a different color triangle on your mini-map and over their mech in a game. You want to go smash 'Mechs with the peeps you're grouped with, not waste time finding them.

On a side note... I would hope to see an option to display info, under the triangles (not on the mini-map) for everyone on your team.

Or.. you can join a house or merc unit, or even a clan unit and have your in game name changed to, for example, HC Harlequin for Harlequin Corps merc unit. So that your actual in game name is part of the unit.
