Do you think we will be getting any of the mechs that make it a fine line between classes?
For example a heavy that is fully loaded with everything you could want...or an assult that is on the lighter side weight wise but still well armed and faster than the turtle atlas?
Right now it seems they do not want any mechs that blurr the line between weight classes or at least have not announced them. There are several mechs that kinda blurr the line between each of the weight classes but so far I don't see any of them included.

there is no fine line....your either a light, medium, heavy or assault class.

20 versus 35 doesnt mean your a light of insignificance

40-55 doesnt mean your a lesser medium

60-75 doesnt mean you cant kick an assault butt!

80-100 doesnt mean you can do whatever you d a m n well please.

3 cheers for MWO !!

The Centurion is a heavy and slow medium and the Dragon is a pretty fast heavy. I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Can I get an amen? Where such "blurs" are concerned, it is more of a personal flavor. If you are a crack shot and stand on a hill with your Atlas, you will likely be the terror of that field. At least until someone comes along in an Archer or a Catapult and takes offense at you stealing their thunder and thinks to his or herself how stupid your gigantic outline is for someone playing sniper.

So you talk about 55 ton mediums and 60 ton heavies, for example, which are not so differ... 55 ton IS mechs: Bushwacker - not even designed at 3049, Griffin - Unseen, Wolverine - unseen, Phoenix-Hawk - unseen, Shadow Hawk - unseen, not sure about Wraith.
60 ton IS mechs: Anvil, Champion, Rifleman - inseen, Merlin, Grand Dragon and Dragon - already in game.

So we'll have a chance to get some entry-level heavies, while choise of near-heavy mediums is quite limited (not counting unseens).

About heavies-assaults. We need to look at 75 ton heavies and 80 ton assaults.

75 ton IS mechs: Marauder - unseen, Black Knight, Orion.
80 ton IS mechs: Awesome! Charger, Victor, Zeus.

So, if we'll have 12 mechs on start looking like

Commando
30 ton
Jenner
Centurion
Hunchback
some unseen or Wraiht
Dragon
65 ton
Black Knight or Orion
Victor or Zews or Awesome
Atlas

then we'll have pretty smooth transition from mediums to heavy and from heavy to assault.

Are you refering to mechs like the Charger (Assault with a 400 rated engine that makes it fast as a medium), the Assassin (40tons and better movement profile then typical scouts), or the Warhammer (more firepower then many assault mechs but lighter armor)?

Its not like there are hard lines between classes in function. You can have fast assaults with little weapons and slow medium that look like a gun show. Only really hard breaks are where jump jets start costing more. You don't see many mechs with lots of jump capability past 55tons for example.

I think this is more what the OP was getting at.

A response for the Original Poster:

I think a Centurion would be considered a fine-line Mech, sitting between Medium and Heavy; It's armored and armed like some of the 60 ton heavy Mechs in today's Tuesday Poll, but the Centurion only weighs 50 tons. So, yes, we already have, and will probably be getting more weight class stereotype-busting Mechs likle this.

This is like what I ment. Also toss in the battlemaster. I guess there are some mechs in game that blurr the lines in the lower weight classes as some people pointed out. I want to see something that blurrs the line some between heavy and assult. I don't want every assult to be 54mph and a billion tons of armor on it and I don't want to see every heavy have half the firepower of the weakest assult in game.
