not just to the victims and there families but it should be noted that there was troops who sacrificed so much afterwards in witch some payed the ultimate price for that witch has been done as well has stood up for the ideas of our nation witch sadly have gone down the drains as of late and yes i can say that that's the freedom i earned by serving in the navy before and after 9/11 and my thanks to any serviceman from our allied lands during those wars that sacrificed just as much as the Americans did without them we would be lost and to those still over there in Afghanistan 11 years later please be safe stay with your training and come home safe

And you may think it's nonsense, but there is no moving on without remembering what has always happened from before. We have had many things in the past that shall never forgotten and never should. You can go on with your life and not worry about things that "Happened so long ago" to you ,but there will be others of us who shall maintain the rememberance of history for all in the future. Besides alot of us have had friends, family or neighbors who have been effected by this travisty alone iin the last 11 yrs. Also it's not insulting anyones memory , it's showing how much we have sacrificed to keep this country as free as it is, and how so many others want to tear it down.

ok folks here are some guidelines for this thread.

same as the other thread on a similar subject, I just came from there.

In order for this thread to remain open, we all must keep on topic. What is the topic you say? 11yrs Later.

Remembering is ok.

What will not be allowed is flame baiting and derogatory remarks with regard to:

1.religion - pro or con
2.morals - good or bad
3.nations - for or against

This is about remembering a tragic part of world history, and all good people working together to make sure it never happens again - anywhere..

You must remember, everyones experience was different for many reasons.

Lets all remain respectful......please.

Thank you.

You need to remember that this incident effected almost 10 million people in the NYC area alone. I am sure that the ereas that were directly efected will will have ceramonies for a many years to come. Let say someone who you knew and liked died in some tragic event. Are you saying you will never do anything to remember him? Of coarse you will in your own way. It is human nature.

If you do not like a thread or article about people remembering someone for what ever reason. Do not be a troll and post something negative. Ignore it and move on to a thread you are interested in.

youre right i cant forget it but dwelling on the past isnt healthy nor is it productive i call that post directing my annoyances about so many people around me that give their false sympathies for people that they dont know or give a damn about and know none of their names every year and use it as an excuse to preach politics and morals and blame it for that very war this was not trolling it was simply venting. best way to honor those memories would be to build those towers back up twice as high and have some kind of memorial for the names of every victim lost rather than cry about it every year

Lightdragon, the only thing you've said that I can agree with is the bit about rebuilding the Towers twice as high. By now, we all get that remembering 9/11 isn't your thing. That's fine, you've moved on... so please do the rest of us the courtesy of shutting the **** up now! We all deal with grief and loss a little differently-- let those who feel the need to commemorate the day of this horrible and cowardly attack on U.S. citizens deal with their grief as they see fit, rather than belittling that grief. Moderators, please silence this person if he cannot contain him/herself.

Xavier and Lightdragon, you're both right, and you're both wrong.

Yes, there are people who use a tragic event like 9/11 to push politics. It's disgusting, I hate it, and those people should be ashamed for it. However, that is by far a VAST minority of people, and to treat it as anything more than that is a gross misjudgement. Many people still grieve for people they never knew, and a sense of security they can never have again. I know I do.

Furthermore, to last out against people who don't grieve (no matter what their reason) is no better honoring those lost then the people you lash out against. The people who would do harm to innocent people will get their just-desserts, sooner or later.
