We are also the little guy, but then, we are actually the only house to employ ECM at a constant rate in this time period. :P

Careful now, statements like that could get you hauled in for "questioning". Better stick to the party line and remember House Liao is a great house, nothing little about it.

And all Cicadas, Hunchbacks and Stalkers as all of these are IS general and available to everyone. :P
Make no mistake, you still lack any kind of ECM, as the Cicada never had one.

Also, you forgot: Dragon-1C and Trebuchet-7K.

Oh, and yes, Jagermechs are also available.

The Inner Sphere General Filter...that would help! Thanks Adridos.
Had built the original list using only the FRR filter at the Master Units List website.

Now, after using the following filters...
Rules: Standard, Advanced, Introductory; Production Eras: Star League, Early Succession War, Late Succession War, Clan Invasion; Factions: Free Rasalhague Republic, Inner Sphere General; Types: BattleMech; Techs: Inner Sphere;
...and the Atlas AS7-D-DC shows up loud and proud...ECM ho!
Only had one Cicada and did not find the TBT-7K or DRG-1C...source book or something on Sarna?

1.Commando COM-2D
2.Spider SDR-5K, SDR-5V
3.Jenner JR7-D, JR7-K
4.Cicada CDA-3M
5.Centurion CN9-A, CN9-D
6.Hunchback HBK-4G, HBK-4H, HBK-4J, HBK-4P, HBK-4SP

8.Dragon DRG-1N,DRG-1C, DRG-5N
9.Catapult CPLT-C1, CPLT-K2
10.Jagermech JM6-DD, JM6-S (game models not released)
11.Awesome AWS-8Q, AWS-8R, AWS-8T, AWS-8V, AWS-9M
12.Stalker STK-3F, STK-3H, STK-4N, STK-5M
13.Highlander HGN-732, HGN-732b (game models not released)
14.Atlas AS7-D, AS7-D-DC**, AS7-RS, AS7-K.

Standard models in bold
**Advanced Model

Thanks again Adridos!
Was missing a big piece of the puzzle there.

To be fair, even D-DC doesn't mount ECM. Just a Commando Console. :)

As far as the additional mechs are concerned, I got those mechs + yours in the Combat Operations. It lists teh availability of every single mech to every faction of 3067 and before. Excluding that era, I've found those 2 to be missing in your list.

If you don't have the book and would like to check, here's an e-version of it: link

This will also help out a little, using the 3039 tables. Note that you get a bunch of Steiner/Kuritan mechs anyway, plus Steiner and Davion (low chance) salvage. For CTF pilots, Davion manufactured the 3D.

I'm loving the idea of all this indeed. All quite new to me, would really like to see the future of this game when the Factions & Clans come in :)

Big fan of my Atlas and wouldn't give that up!

Do you mean standard in FRR? Most of those are not standard in general, I think.

The Sarna list isn't particularly useful here it appears to be for a post clan invasion force where the FRR was getting heavy ComStar support.

Also, I went through that list to see where each 'mech was made (therefore, how long into the invasion we'd be producing it.) Most of the mechs on the list are produced on Luthien, and I think attributing them to the FRR is erroneous. We'd have all the mechs on that list, but the list of mechs actually produced in the FRR is really short:

PNT-9R Panther

It has its virtues...I think it's the lightest mech in base tech to have a PPC.

According to ye olde 3050 Technical Readout, production at New Oslo stops some time in 3050 as the plant is dismantled and relocated to Satalice. When production starts back up, it's the PNT-10K version. Later, Satalice is one of the battle sites in MechWarrior 2...

I don't have my heart set on operating a Panther. I think I can make do with an "import". :D

My excuse for piloting mechs other than what the FRR normally has access to?

I'm an elite viking dude with over 1600 confirmed kills and I like to steal the enemy mechs I come across.

For those of us that *do* have our heart set on a Panther, here's about as close as you can get today:
COM-1D Ghetto Panther PNT-9R
COM-1D Ghetto Panther PNT-10K

I have had great fun and quite some success running a variant of the 10K there:
COM-1D Ghetto Panther PNT-10K modified
A bit more speed with an XL engine, and a bit more heat efficient with DHS, but not as close to the lore as the other two.

Hmmm... Similar shape, but a couple of sizes smaller than a canon Panther. I might consider going up a couple of sizes to a CN9-AL CenturiPanther. EDIT: I take it back, now that I have a Centurion in my garage, and I see it's a pretty big target. Bigger than my Hunchback, for sure. So, when I have a hankering for a Panther, it'll be a 25-ton mini-Panther that's harder to hit.

Had the filter in place for FRR and Inner Sphere General. A majority would be FRR Standard according to the website (http://www.masterunitlist.info/Unit): Jenner JR7-K, Centurion CN9-D, Trebuchet TBT-7M, Dragon DRG-5N, Jagermech JM6-DD, and Atlas AS7-K.

Inner Sphere General Standard: Cicada CDA-3M, Catapult CPLT-C1, Awesome AWS-9, Stalker STK-5M, and Highlander HGN-732.

Keep in mind the Catapult CPLT-C1 and Highlander HGN-732 are Star League era mechs. When considering modernization and standardization, the Catapult CPLT-C1 would be rare in the Kungsarme, the Highlander HGN-732 almost nonexistent...heirlooms?

FWIW, the FRR was known to have one Assault Class Regiment. So, the Atlas AS7-K, Awesome AWS-9, and Stalker STK-5M would also be limited in quantity.

Here's another Battletech fan's compiled research on 'Mech availability across all factions. Based off RATs, TROs, and sourcebook data. Really amazing and useful. Not my work.

The Gunzburg Eagles are an assault regiment, but remember that prior to the Truce of Tukayyid ComStar did not provide much logistical support to the FRRKA, so the vast majority of 'Mechs will use standard technology, as with most House forces. The 1st Tyr won't be reformed until after Tukayyid as well.

I would love melee... but I also find it very unlikely that it will be in this game (at launch at least) as programming proper model collisions and damage should be hell.

We already take damage from collisions. Just ask any light mech pilot who has been stepped on by clumsy, overzealous heavy and assault mech pilots. Adding melee combat from there ought to be a snap.

Doing some research on the good old Vindy to prove it is a great mech to add to some ...Dervish lovers... I found out that you were gifted Vindicator-1AAs, so you can add those to the list. For those who don't know, it's basically a Phoenix Hawk without MGs.

As said earlier, pre-clans we should basically have Steiner and Kurita list of mechs. Post -clans we should have Steiner, Kurita, Comstar and salvaged clan mechs.

They should also have a good measure of Marik chassis during the clan invasion as Marik does a lot of selling of mechs to back fill lost assets after initial invation.
