I know the graphics in MWO are awsome and the scenery is beautiful however i cant help but wonder why a building can stand up to my ac20 when it knocks the **** out of mechs!
here is my suggestion its simple but has alot of use when it comes to strategy.. make the envirement react! when you hit a building with srms chunks should fly off! when you unload you lbx into the side of water cooling tower, it should topple! those people you see walking into a building should be slowly destroying it and their own mechs armor in the process!
imagine your coming through a tunnel only to find that the enemy have blasted the roof causing a cave in and you have to turn back or shoot your way through, or you see a mech hiding behind a tall building and you decide to take chunks off the top to force them out or risk having masonry falling on them and knocking arms off or even just knocking them over.
i think there is great potential for such a system as long it doesnt go over board and at the end of each match there is nothing left if you see what i mean?!
Realistic envirements!

i don´t think its gonna happen anytime soon. they said there will be minor destructible stuff, like trees, fences, maybe cars and such... but the buildings are there for cover, and it will probably stay this way. maybe they´ll surprise us with some more destructibles later, but i doubt that the majority of buildings will be destructible... btw, that would mean even more and more work for our computers to do, and many ppl are at the low-end of perfomance already...

In my point of view, buildings should give u cover but only up to the point till they get destroyed :-) The cryengine 3 is so much capable of destructilble ojects and other physics, it would be a shame to not use it to its full extend! And by the way, since MWO is a simulation, indestructable buildings would not be very realistic i guess!
I hope they introduce them sometime!

I agree. Not to be a rules laywer, but it would make sence unless you had Hardness 4 buildings everywhere. In my home games, we wouldn't know the hardness, it was randomly generated. So your Catapult would jump on a good solid looking structure, then only to find out by landing on it, it was an abandon compound! Perhaps tho in time, perhaps. Ill be sadated for now

I think it's safe to say that destructible environment is on the wishlist.

The trees should fall over, the cars should explode and the water should splash more when the mechs walk over these things. And for the buildings: At least the surface should crack, so that the cover of the building is active but it would look very cool!

i personally think it should look more like an environment you are walking through instead of some invisible 3d haze of technovision.

i think this game need more simpleness, no need that realistic destruction trees, when still 40% players have 15-20 fps in game
