I was just wondering if anyone else was a fan of other mecha series other than Mechwarrior. It does not have to be a video game.
I wonder how many other people are just fans of giant fighting robots no matter what or if Mechwarrior and the Western mecha are the only favorites.
Personally I am a fan of any mecha series as long as it keeps my interest. I actually got in to Mechwarrior after someone made an offhand coment to it in an Armored Core video. Basicly for me it does not matter if it is a super robot anime, or a realistic portrayal, like Mechwarrior, any mecha is good for me.
So what about the rest of you?

Other mecha media.

I about the same as you, more of a "Mecha" fan then a Mechwarrior/battletech fan. One of my favorite cartoons as a kid in the 80s was Robotech, that lead Me to Battletech and from there various mecha anime . Gundam,Evangelion.Full metal panic, patlabor if has giant robots then it might have my interest.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann has got to be one of the best, in my opinion.

I am more of a general mecha fan as well, I just plain like giant robots!
Gurren Lagann and Eureka seveN are some of my favorite anime series, along with most Gundam, especially Gundam OO. I also love Armored Core and Chromehounds, and from the era of DOS, Earthsiege, Ultrabots, and of course Mechwarrior 2.
I also build small LEGO mecha, some of my own designs and some based off of other media, like Battletech.

I absolutely loved Chromehounds, too bad the servers were shut off though. I guess we can only hope for a sequel, though that is unlikely to happen.

Poor, Chromehounds. I got Xbox Live the year after it shut down, that saddened me.
