So I've had enough of this and I'll cut to the chase. Music and music videos are not memes. They have nothing to do with MW:O and/ or this meme thread no matter how hard you try to tie them together. Nor do they get accepted or funny just because you spam it so badly that we're forced to drink from the firehose of your mediocrity.

Please do us all a favor and stop hijacking MW:O meme thread for your music tastes. You want to talk about music and music videos so badly that you folks spam this thread with garbage that is at best only mildly lame, then that seems to me that EVERYONE would be better off if you did the that the right thing: make your own damn thread for this clutter, please.

Mods, I know theres about a snowballs chance in Hell they'll be decent enough to do this, as such I'd like to request that a new thread be created FOR them and have all this musical flotsam and jetsam moved over to there. This debris deserves it's own thread, really, and it'd be nice to see meme thread get back to what it was before it started getting fracked with musical non-memes.

http://en.wikipedia....i/Internet_meme

Memetics are concerned with the transfer of ideas and are intentionally analogous to Genetics. They are then intentionally used to transpose or transplants ideas between individuals. This can be done with direct interpretation by involving more explanation by the use of text or by the use of symbolic or popular culture references to allow for the individuals own interpretation to themselves by association to the idea.

In essence then the symbolic process actually allows for the transfer of ideas more readily as it can explore ideas more generalised to the users own experiences with a new interpretation applied to it. This is why Memes generally have recognised protagonists (e.g. Bad Luck Brian) as their symbolic reference with a minimal amount of explanation to actually convey a interpretive "meaning".

As such Memetics is not literally about factual transference as this only represents one potentially occasion of a potential experience from one persons experience of the same idea, though it can be used for such and can translate well if a logical expression is used of course.

With the idea then that ideas are transferred through Memetics like Genetics it also allows for the social growth and evolution of those ideas by the very success of the Memetic process and people taking on board their own interpretation of those ideas. As such sometimes you have to also accept that it may then also grow or dynamically change through interaction as more interpretation is applied to it. Such that in some cases the originally seed idea can evolve into something completely different. This is what Memetics is actually about and not simply the recording of historical events, they are designed to install a social dialouge and to transpose ideas that can grow beyond their original parameters.

This is why social culture references are so inherantly involved with the Memetic process historically, as it is more a process of social interaction.

Thus constraining the content of Memes to just the factually understood content about MWO does not allow for creativity, imagination or ideas to be explored beyond the boundaries of current theory. It also as an extra limitation then that it reduces the amount of dialogue a community can have about its subject material which if anything is counterproductive to a social mechanism being effective.

So sorry Roland, not only are you miss-understanding Memetics, but I think your "request" is attempting to place unnecessary limitations to Memesters being able to have an effective social dialogue.

I separate my Memes out into contextual areas. This allows for social interaction more readily with others as a result as they then can then easily interact with that specific content. It helps the Memetic process as they don't have to canabalise a post containing multiple ideas, so it is intentionally done like that to make it convenient for a Memetic process to occur. (See explanation above).

The easiest thing to do if you are having trouble appreciating anyone's contribution to a community thread is to ignore that poster. Since if you only see this content as "Spam" from your interpretation of it, this technique could be helpful to reduce the amount of content you have to review.

You are also the only one who thinks this is a good idea to violate a decades-old rule that's so old as to be unwritten anymore: Thou Shalt Not Double Post. Stop worrying about the integrity of your mediocrity and just combine your posts in the future, because meme thread anymore is just Meme posts sandwiched in music videos, which makes this thread look like VH1-tumor-ridden.
