MechWarrior Online feels kind of like the first category, where it's somewhat more fulfilling to grind out C-Bills and buy Mechs with them rather than to up-front pay for them. I haven't really had a good reason to buy stuff other than limited edition only stuff like the Founder and Overlord packages. Well, and the Sarah mech, though that had nothing to do with standard monetization at all.

The UAV is already a good idea in general since it does this, but their discussion about the 'money bomb' makes me think of something else.



It would encourage some of the wealthier premades to invest in one of these. Or if it WASN'T a module but a Hero mech type, that would have the same effect.

What will people see if they say a Gold Timberwolf on the update?



But if the Gold Mechs didn't give a boost to just the player, but their whole team... what would people think?

I haven't played very much since the stat reset, but it's one of my favorite mechs. This is with still slightly broken SRM hit detection. I'll probably drop by again after the 29th and see how the next round of fixes goes. Yes, I realize that the above is neither comprehensive, nor impressive, and that I'm probably the only person with a 4J, much less a 98kph one, but still. 4J rulez
