I'm a long time mechwarrior/mechcommander fan but i never really got in to the books...untill now. ;)
I already popped Saga of the Grey Death Legion and Jade Phoenix Trilogy on my kindle and have started reading Decision at Thunder Rift.
So my question is, which other ones do you recommend?

If you are ONLY interested in timeline and want to see how things progress in history...
Then just read all the books by Stackpole and the latter novels by Loren Coleman.
(Stackpole was writing X-wing and Star Wars when Coleman took over as the main plot story writer... or something like that)

The rest of the novels are filler and explain specifics

Start with
Warrior Trilogy - start and end of the 4th Succession war culminating in the formation of the Federated Commonwealth

Blood of Kerensky Trilogy - Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere

Natural Selection / Assumption of Risk / Bred for War / Malicious Intent - seeds for the Fedcom Civil war and future Clan conflicts (between Clans and against the Innersphere)

Twilight of the Clan Series - the annihilation of Clan Smoke Jaguar (here again the most important novels are the two by Stackpole)

Capellan Solution (Two books) - civil war bringing back the St. Ives Compact back into the Cappellan Confederation

Illusions of Victory / Flashpoint / Patriots and Tyrants / Storms of Fate / End Game - the Fedcom Civil War

Favourite author AFTER Stackpole for me would be Blaine Lee Pardoe; so I would also suggest reading his novels.

Just finished the Saga of the Grey Death Legion and it was great! Highly recommend it. Going for the Warrior trilogy next.

Just curious... does the Atlas make an appearance in any of the Battletech books?

Warrior: Coupe, don't have the exact page number since it's on my Kindle.... The Atlas shows up. And does it in a big way...

Ah, sorry about the 2 posts, but I forgot. For many of the new Battletech Universe people, I would suggest purchasing the 3025 Technical Readout and the Battletech Technical Readout: 3050 Upgrade. The art work is wonderful, but you have to get a certain book.

For the 3025, I suggest getting this book, because much of the art work looks decent, in updated versions, the mechs look strange....
http://www.amazon.co...al+Readout+3025
Also, how can you say no to a picture of an Atlas picking on infantry?

For 3050, I recently purchased the Upgrade, and the Clan mechs look fantastic. the IS mechs.....Hit and miss.

So, I say get these, and read through them as you are reading through the B-tech novels, cause it's fun to know where the mechs were made, and also different possible variants for the mechs.

I might have to start a new thread since this hasn't been touched since 2012.

I do not know what book continues the story after Malicious Intent. I've just started Twilight of the Clans. Can anyone guide me in the right direction?

Here is the order that I read the books in:
All taken from (http://www.stargazer..._novel_list.htm)
Not saying this is the right order.. Just how my interest flowed.
Lethal Heritage Michael A. Stackpole The Blood of Kerensky -- Book 1 Blood Legacy Michael A. Stackpole The Blood of Kerensky -- Book 2 Lost Destiny Michael A. Stackpole The Blood of Kerensky -- Book 3 Natural Selection Michael A. Stackpole Assumption of Risk Michael A. Stackpole Tactics of Duty William H. Keith Jr. Bred for War Michael A. Stackpole Decision at Thunder Rift William H. Keith Jr. Saga of the Grey Death Legion -- Book 1 Mercenary’s Star William H. Keith Jr. Saga of the Grey Death Legion -- Book 2 The Price of Glory William H. Keith Jr. Saga of the Grey Death Legion -- Book 3 Warrior: En Guarde Michael A. Stackpole Birth of the Federated Commonwealth--Book 1 Warrior: Riposte Michael A. Stackpole Birth of the Federated Commonwealth--Book 2 Warrior: Coupe Michael A. Stackpole Birth of the Federated Commonwealth--Book 3
Malicious Intent Michael A. Stackpole
Now starting the Twilight Saga.

Stackpole is a great writer. I find that his writing style flows really well. Keith is close behind. I didn't enjoy Robert Thurston's writing style very much though. Couldn't get into his books.
