Unfortunately, all Beta testers are under an NDA, so if they told you how the gameplay was, they would be breaking said NDA and risk getting kicked out of the beta. However, I'm sure the Devs realise that high pings are an issue for a portion of their userbase, and thus will be trying to build their netcode to be as high-ping friendly as possible. In fact, because this is a slower based game compared to many FPS games, I wager you would still be able to play it at about 350 ping. (Most fast paced FPSes are still playable at 250ish ping).
Even if it wasn't very playable at high pings (which I severely doubt), they said they would do their best to support server transfers once the game goes live, so I think buying a founder's package right now would be a pretty good investment regardless. We need to vote with our wallets if we want an Oceania server!

I have been given the chance to recruit for an Aussie based company for Armageddon Unlimited. If people are interested go and look at their page and message me on here so I can start to get things rolling.
It's a chance to play in a pretty big unit and possibly form the command cadre for a future Aussie batallion.
Cheers
Semyon

Hopefully if we don't get servers at least MWO staff talk to Aussie ISPs to see about other ways to reduce delay. Like how Internode had better connections to wow.

If MWO is smart about it they'll be taking notes and do something similar. It still gives the community the ability to join games with higher server populations, but at the same time allows the community to play in their preferred ping range.
Edit: in essence, choice higher population and more games running at once or lower populations, more time in queue, but higher quality experience

I can typically get 230-270 ping to US west coast servers and in a mechwarrior game I expect that to be sufficient to provide a satisfactory gaming experience.
