Whos looking foward to Borderlands 2? I certaintly am! I have the first Borderlands and it was plain awsome! The game is going to be coming out 11/20/12. I am pretty sure that it is the release date. Correct me if I am wrong.

I never cared much for the first one, it took the grind of an RPG and combined it with the linearity of a shooter - the worst of both worlds. It was disappointing because the trailers and such actually looked cool, but unrewarding and sluggish gameplay and a lot of poor choices with the multiplayer couldn't be made up for with slick graphics, and my friends who played it will agree. By this point, I don't have very high hopes for the sequel, the novelty of the visual style has blown over and unless Gearbox reworks the core gameplay to make it flow better and design the multiplayer to actually be user friendly it's not going to be worth it. Hell, why anyone would buy Borderlands 2 when Tribes Ascend and MechWarrior Online will be free and most likely superior games is completely beyond me - especially after being burned by the poor quality of the first.

I must disagree with you. Borderlands was funny, good and perfect CO-OP shooter. And despite the trailer for the 2nd one has dubstep in it, it seems fairly promising.

Tribes: Ascend, on the other hand (which closed beta test, I participated in), goes in a way of CoD, not real Tribes. Common, it's a game in a series where you always had only one real machine gun and using it was for noobs. Now, half the arsenal is made from it, they inclouded grinding and the maps/player count/skill are two tiers below the first game from 1998.

If by 'perfect co-op' you mean 'almost unplayable with shoddy gamespy service and problems doing the same missions as your friends', you're right. Getting the multiplayer to work to any degree was extremely aggravating and a huge waste of time. As far as funny is concerned, some of it yes, but not the Claptraps.

It's more like Battlefield, except not bad, and without Origin. No vehicle camping, no spending 20 minutes slogging from point A to point B, and mild effort is required to hit anything as there are very few hitscan weapons. The automatic weapons are also largely inferior to the spinfuzors, grinding isn't really a big issue as the perks aren't that important beyond the ones that add ammunition, they lowered the costs of everything and increased xp gain and now allow some customization of your class. They could use some better maps, yes, but the player count is pretty good and it is still very much a skill-based shooter. Quite frankly, a lot of it is similar to what MWO *sounds* like on paper, and hey, it's free, unlike Borderlands which was a total waste of money the first time around.

Of course, I could just be suffering from PC Master Race-syndrome and just hating Borderlands because the PC release was a poorly optimized port, and the multiplayer might actually not have been total garbage on the consoles, and they might even fix it for the sequel!
