I am sure with the new looks they are interested in bringing models to the shelves with FREE GAME incentives and maybe promo codes for special paint jobs or something. Maybe even a new ccg and other swag. This would be wise if they have the financial backing. Sell stuff in big stores and it comes with a disc launcher or promo code and directions on how to play online and pilot the sweet Mech you just bought? Heck throw in a 30% off coupon for a MWO T-Shirt and reach out. I'm just flapping my vent. These guys already know all the appropriate and cost effective marketing venues.

I would love to own an Atlas that would sit on my desk.

I love the new art direction the developers are taking and I am such a Battletech nerd that I would definitely buy a little metal mineature of my favorite mechs (Battlemaster? Goliath, the quad mech, Orion?) I loved those things 15 years ago, you know the ones you got in comicbook shops took home and painted. The Art is absolutely fantastic aswell, I must admit that I have set the pictures as the background on my desktop and I would buy posters of the art if they were made available. (at a reasonable price of course) I know of a number of games that have done well with similar promotions, TimberJon mentioned that too. Bundling such things with in game stuff (maybe a mini atlas to put in the cockpit, or a pinup calendar, nose art ect. ect. ect.) None of it will help if the game isnt fun, but if it is a good game (and I REALLY hope it is, i do love mechwarrior) little promotional items from an online store could be profitable, if not in their own right atleast as advertisements for the game. I am not a marketing expert, but I would caution against anything brought to a retail setting, if it were online production could be very limmited and then expanded (perhaps into retail) if sales merit that. Either way, I would love a little metal Battlemaster to paint and put next to my monitor, or an Orion poster for my wall, and I dont think I am the only one
