- This is a MS Windows OS game. You already have Windows Media Player, or some other music player that you replaced it with. That ought to be able to cover it.

Or...

- Use a real IPOD, or something similar.

------------

Basically, my outlook on it is, if they have already put a music player in there, so be it. No harm done, and it will undoubtedly please some folks. If they haven't added one in, I won't miss it.

I know i can use other players and stuff but i would be cool to click press button in cockpit/neurohelmet to change tracks(for feeling factor) and not having to alt-tab or use overlay program.I know this is nothing big but still nice to have it.

I'd like a smartphone in the cockpit. I could use the fancy restaurant-finder app to headhunt Lyran generals. :)

Games don't usually do this because they would have to pay up to the rights owners of the MP3 and various other codecs, just not worth it. I think the only game that has ever done this is the Grand Theft Auto series on PC and it made sense because it would only come on when you were in a car as a radio.

Eve Online has a music player built-in. Some folks use it (typically swapping in their own music files in place of the ones included with the game). I suspect most do not use it after playing for a ferw weeks, but I'm not aware of any authoritative stats on it. I can tell you that if you play it while tired, the default music can put you to sleep in short order...

If I want music while gaming, I use the Windows media Player, and generally control it from my Logitech G510 keyboard's controls.

As cheesy as this is, I'd like it. I'd only put one song in and have it on repeat while me and my custom Dragon variant go stomping...

I don't know much about mp3 codecs and stuff but i think ut 2004 had build in mp3 player but i don't know how hard/cost is to get that mp3 codecs is but i know its worth it, its more comfortable to play with it and if someone is playing with bad PC it will be difficult to alt-tab and use additional programs for music.

Actually as a nod to the RP crowd, it would be a bit nice to get some Duncan Fisher radio stuff in there, but it's serious fluff and would need to be waaaaay down the road.

That being said, NGNG and HyperP could probably be harassed into getting some spots up for in cockpit news flashes.

I mean, think of [*REDACTED*] (aka ISN news) audio feeds (obviously biased) then the real story MercNet updates about your battles WHILE YOU'RE STILL FIGHTING THEM!!!

/just saying.

I know Star Trek Online has an in-game music player that ties in to your WinAmp or iTunes. I use it all the time to listen to my own music, various audio podcasts (subscribed through iTunes), and internet radio stations like SubSpace Radio and TrekRadio
