Hoplite? - sure it's different looking, but it doesn't seem that different role/weapon-wise as the Centurion or Hunchback.
Kintaro? - although another missle-boat, it's not really fire support and can't jump
Since we've already got the Centurion and Hunchback, two medium mechs that can go into a fight swinging and do some damage, but not very quick, almost like a light heavy mech, I was hoping we'd see a medium that showcased the speed and manueverability of the weight class. Something that is more of a heavier light mech and could provide that scout lance leader type role/support to the fight, like a Phoenix Hawk (i know, i know), Clint, Vulcan, or <shudder> Assassin even.
I can understand needing the role of a faster fire support (like the Dervish). I just hope there is another medium planned in the works?

With a NARC and the armour it packed making up (a little) for the speed and lack of jump jets, the Kintaro would be the winner for me, but without the NARC (and therefore without being able to fulfil its primary role) then it's Dervish all the way.
(and no, never liked the Hoplite)

1) The Medium range of 'Mechs (as announced thus far) desperately needs a chassis that can move faster than 64 kph. With the Kintaro's 86kph, it can reasonably keep up with the Commando, enabling it to act as a Scout Unit.
2) The heavy support window is already competently filled by the Catapult and the Dragon. Sure, they're heavy 'Mechs, but that's what Heavy 'Mechs are supposed to do. The Kintaro is sorely needed for it's impressive short-range firepower, even though it's not a Hunchback.
3) The NARC missile beacon is, thus far, a new potential addition that is sorely needed by those that will be performing Scout operations.
4) The Kintaro can operate admirably as a unit commander, able to get around the battlefield as fast as a Dragon, yet still be able to hold its own in a fight.
Seriously, vote Kintaro. It would be an amazing addition to the Medium Class. I understand why Dervish is so popular, but we already have long-range support vehicles in the Dragon and Catapult Chassis'.

No, that's not one mech. Those lasers on the arm are for the Jenner, then the lasers on the chest are the Atlas. That's the view of the hangar from the perspective of the Hunchback. When we get the entire picture, it will likely show us the in-game Hunchback cockpit.
I think you've hit the nail on the head. If you look on the original trailer you see a platform move away from the hunchback and what looks like the crane above it light up.
As for the vote i voted for the Hoplite, aesthetically it would be the best i think. And something a little different.

Dervish, I guess though. Most mobile, biggest punch. Very Medium-ish. Essentially an Archer Jr.

FD's magic on the Hoplite might change my mind. Big fan of the LB-X

Without the NARC the Kintaro isn't too great... and narrowed down to being a close combat chassis. This, of course, makes him a nice asset in urban warfare, running into 3 SRM-6's when turning into a narrow street is almost a death sentence for most light, medium, and some heavy 'Mechs. Same is true for the Hoplite and his LB-X... being pumped full of holes will hurt pretty soon, the more so when you can't do much damage against the 11.5t of armour. This being said, NARC and LB-X are still very rare... so are the chassis.
When it comes to looks, I'd like to see the Hoplite getting a face lifting, though.
