I think that they SHOULD have a ToP. You vs. three mechs, first being a light, second being a heavy, third being an assault. You can bring any mech up to 75 tons, and have to off the light mech to do drops. Beating the other two gives you more Honor or XP or whatever.

did you not go read the CBS ToP protocols?

Everything in the Clans is based on Trials. Its a complicated thing to think Innersphere characters converting to Clan characters but I guess there is no way around that the way this game is being set up. It would be easier if this was a pay to play game just charge a little more to be a clan player.

Now because they are going to want to fill toumans, initial trial of positions should be against computer opponents not players. First kill Warrior, Second kill Star Captain, Third kill Star Commander. The Star Commanders can enter an additional ToP for Star Colonel and the Star Colonels can ToP for Khan and Sakhan. Like the lore these people can only stay in position as long as they defeat all rivals. Challenges for rank advancement can only take place during certain times in the game. Ranks along with specialty skill trainings can unlock certain configurations for mechs assigned to them.

Each trinary could be issued a certain number of the various mechs available to outfit their pilots and the Trinary commanders will assign those mechs to their troops accordingly. Mech pilots can use what ever configurations their specialties allow.

Life in the clans is hard. Only the best pilots command and survive. I do agree that is you take the road of clans as stated at say level 26 and you are killed then you should restart back in the Innersphere as level 20 and have to work yourself back up.

If Clan were added to the site, ToP's should be a requirement, it is intergral to the Clan ranking system. while failre should not result in reduction of point/honor/rank, success should always be rewarded in conjunction with canon...

This is true, in addition I think that clan players who loose matches in a row should also be penalized for being wasteful (all good clansmen should always be mindful of waste, that is why we bid).

Well said, however keep in mind that for above average performances, there are field promotions. You accomplish a great feat, you get bumped up. It does happen.

On the field sure, but they still have to have a trial to keep that position if there is another warrior who comes close to their time and skill, and let us not forget that in the clans age is an issue. Otherwise Joanna would have remained a Star Captain at the end of the Jade Phoenix trilogy.

Oh it worked later I am sure it was more my internet than your site, xfinity was having random outages due to a "solar flare" (I do not believe them but nothing I could do about it).

Im pretty sure the Clans way of life is more of a mortal danger kind of thing. You either make it or don't, hence why its a society of warriors

Joanna only reverted to Star Commander because her field promotion was temporary.

Yes it was, that is the whole point of 90% of field promotions, they are temporary.
