Why I'm voting for Obama

When it comes to campaigning, candidates have to strategize & honesty can mean a heavy loss, exaggeration or outright lies can mean the opposite (hence the source for the OPs satirical post). In the US, so much of the population has so routinely placed importance on things that are not only trivial, but none of their business. Why a candidate needs to state their personal opinion on what consenting adults do with each others buttholes behind closed doors or what kind of imaginary friends someone may have, is rooted in nothing more than utter stupidity (religion). If it actually matters who gets elected & since friends of an enemy can become an enemy, if Gary Johnson has no chance, then this Canadian hopes Obama gets in because those teabaggers really have a way of making the world hate everyone they represent. It has been stated that Democrats are ******* that allow themselves to be controlled or overruled by the same corrupted creatures making most of the messes in the first place. If that's true then it may be better that they don't get elected because it just paints a falsely negative picture. My position is that there are good & bad in every bunch, no matter how you discriminate, & a few public appearances & televised speeches aren't nearly enough to give anyone any idea which side any member of a bunch may be on.

Hey, neighbors up north, if you guys like him, I say power to you, you can have him; after all, Americans have positive feelings towards our Canadian brothers, we will be glad to let you have him, as a gift.
Just, don't let him come back, ever.
Please.

We'll trade you Stephen Harper, our current Prime Minister. He's a little gutless, but he's conservative as all get-out, power-hungry, pro-war and staunchly Evangelist Christian. Just don't let him get at the blood of a high-born virgin; you don't want to know what happens then...

What made Obama's election in a rigged capitalist imperialist hellhole like America possible? I ran this question through my mind countless times, and I have come to the same conclusion that most other people have; white guilt. White guilt played the greatest role in Obama's election, that and selling the message of socialism. Yes, the people heard "hope and change" and they voted for it, they voted for a democratic socialist.
Now I used to hold democratic socialists with contempt, being a revvy myself, but Obama has changed my view in that respect. Perhaps the best way to instate a socialist workers' utopia is not through a revolution, but from working within the system, as Obama and the Democrat Party is doing. It seems to have worked for Europe, where capitalism is just another chapter in the history books. Obama has inspired me to be abandon my militant tendencies in favor of democratic socialist reforms.
Obama's first term was marked with so much gushy socialist goodness that I cannot wait to until November to spread my thick, warm, creamy lovesauce all over the ballot, as I vote for our great leader, Comrade Hussein. I really want to donate to Comrade Hussein's campaign, but I refuse to get a job (thus supporting the evil capitalist system), and sadly his campaign does not accept food stamps (believe me, I tried).
I cannot wait to see the day Obama is elected to his second term, with many more to come once we abolish term limits. Obama and his loyal OcCuPy army (myself included) will bring a new golden age to America and the world and the streets will run red with Christian blood. Obama will personally rip out and eat the still-beating heart of Rush Limbaugh, and the working class shall reign supreme. To take a note from history's great socialists, like Joseph Stalin and Adolf ******, we shall take away the guns of the right-wingers and ban Bibles throughout the newfound United Socialist States of America, and all women shall be required to get abortions. The day of reckoning is coming, you right-wing capitalist pigs! Be afraid, be very afraid!

Don't listen to any of what is on TV, it's just hogwash finaced by wealthy donars on both sides. Just vote on the guy who most represents your values. Myself i believe in environment protection (i like to whitewater raft), Stem cell research and science. So my preference usually goes towards the Democrats. A lot of my military friends love guns, have faith in christainity and hate taxes....they like to vote republican and i have no problem with that even though im a dem

Well looks like GreySky beat me to my response to that. Thanks for saving me some typing Grey. Good observation MM. I'd be interested to know why you suppose this seems to be the case & also, would you find the trade that Grey suggested (& that I was going to) to be agreeable? Not that Americans pay anywhere near as much attention to our politics as we do to theirs. It is after all a fact that whatever you guys are doing, substantially affects what we're doing, unfortunately.

Religiously motivated, gun loving political puppets are a scary thing, but like I said in a previous post, good & bad in every bunch.

Also, enough of this democrat vs republican garbage. If there's one thing that keeps putting terrible people in office, it's the fact that people align to party, vs a candidate's actual values.
Considering the majority of people will vote for whichever candidate represents their party, in the end all the candidates in the middle will never get elected, despite the fact some of them may actually be the best choice for the country as a whole.
Americans should point the fingers at themselves, for blindly following their party and helping drive the country into the ground.

What about other critical responsibilities PotUS has? Should he/she also have 4 years of Wall Street experience to understand economies? And 4 years working as a doctor to understand healthcare? And 4 years working as a geologist to understand fossil fuels? And 4 years of assembling cars to understand the working class? Yada yada...
There are simply too many topics for any president to have direct experience with. That's why they rely on advisers and cabinet members, like the Joint Chiefs, Department heads, etc to synthesize information and recommend course of action/policy.
