I have a problem, do you as well?

I have 10 posts in this forum... This is an achievement for me since I avoid almost ALL forums. (Star Wars the Old Republic being one... eeeww)
So I ask a question, to all you silent people like me. Are you opening up to Mechwarrior online like I have? I have always been a Battletech fan, but never saw the need for forums. But here among us are like-minded fans with diverse beliefs all united in the prospect of a franchise worth a priceless amount of C-Bills I for one am not only excited to play this game, but am looking forward to trying out a forum for once and giving the community a chance. Come on silent people, I know you there like I was. What are looking forward to?
(Sorry for this post, but this was kind of a revelation to me 0.o)

I would hope that may extend to "forever"? Not enough Mech fans these days, at least to me. It's all COD and BF all day every day with my friends.

Mech'ers occupy the utmost top tier of gamers, looking down upon the vast unwashed herds of CoD/BF heffers. Just look up, you'll see us.

Other part of it was waiting for some in game footage to convince me the game's fully legit (I've been a beta tester for too many games so I am a bid jaded). Technically my plan was to wait another week for the supposed GDC reveal to come out but I guess I didn't stick to my plan too well
What I finally decided was that the community here seems so great that it didn't matter since the reason of posting is the community your plugging into not the game so once I realized that I stopped lurking...

Completely agree. I have almost never posted in any forum as I saw it as a waste of time. Why talk when you could play AND talk to others in game? I have always thought this as I've waded through game after game. Now though, not so much. Maybe it's the mechs. Maybe it's the people. Maybe it's just me getting older and wanting to connect more with my fellow gamers. I don't know. It's just, something about Mechwarrior/Battletech just seems to pull me in and not let go. It's funny. Some of the best times and books I've had/read have always revolved around MW/BT. I'm looking at my bookshelf right now and seeing row upon row, shelf after shelf, of all things Sci-Fi. And the mjority of it is made up of Battletech and Mechwarrior novels. No other work of fiction, storyline, or game has had the effect on me as this does. I hope this game, and this universe, doesn't die out and fade away against the tsunami that is CoD/BF and other games that are full of twitch and respawns(not that there's anything wrong with that. It has it's place.). Games that don't require you to think any farther then doing the most damage before you die just so you can respawn and do it again. There's something wrong with the way games are nowadays. All style, no substance. Maybe I am getting a bit too jaded, but it just hurts a bit when a great game with a really good, fleshed out background gets not one look because it was released on the same day as the next CoD. Or the next Madden. Or the next Zombie game #593. I think this next year will probably be the last shot at reviving the MW/BT universe. and bringing it mainstream like CoD or MW. I hope I'm wrong and we can have another chance if all this doesn't pan out like it should. I really do. It's just.......why doesn't feel that way?

Doubtful, considering they're mostly a bunch of 13-year old prepubescents with the attention spans of monkeys. I would rather not have a mass exodus whiners and flamers gracing the MWO servers with their presence. They can stick to their bro shooters for all I care.
