I will buy:
Decals/art designs- I'd probably end up buying something either for my House or that the art team whipped up. It'll be a lot prettier, and go with the mech better than anything I coudl produce.
Fun stuff in the cockpit- Personally I'd like to be able to import pictures to hang on the walls.
Speakers- I'm not sure if I'd buy it or not, but the idea of your mech belting out its own theme music sounds like it would be awesome in the higher level games.
I would pay for XP acceleration.
I would pay for Salvage acceleration.
I would pay for mech bay slots. I favor the idea of low numbers of slots (1-3), with each additional slot costing less and less (to prevent multi-accounting)

I think that being able to pay for a Clan/House/Merc Compound/HQ/whatever would be fn. If Aces and Eights Mercenary Company wants to decorate their compound with a win/loss board, a message board of notes, a Hold-Em table, and a dozen pictures of poker, then all the power to them (after a commensurate disgorgement of funds)

- Pay a small monthly fee to officially join one of the canon House military units or famed merc companies offered by the game
With it also comes it benefits, special unit uniforms (for your avatar perhaps?), command HQ, official ranking system, medals and citations (also displayed on avatar or profile). Command leadership can either be headed by a full time GM that needs to be really involved with the players (we are paying for this anyway) or a system where every month, the players within that unit can vote for a leader or a set of leaders for the command positions. Something along those lines. Also every month you pay, you are expected to serve with that unit for a month (consider it a 1 month contractual obligation).
Bonuses also include :
- discount rates on mechs canonicaly used/produced by that faction
- discount rates for mech equipments
- discount rates for repairs
- better salvage rights
- earns faction standing faster, within your House or your faction's allies(if such a mechanic exists in the game)
- every month, you get a salary based on rank, medal awarded, battles you fought on behalf of your faction (you are a professional soldier, after all!)
- you also receive stipends for any growth you are involved in expanding your faction territories (for house units)
- at the end of your contract, you also receive salvage, equipment and mechs
- Limited mech choices based canonically on the ones actually used/produced by your faction.
- Full restriction or at least penalties for using a mech not supported or produced by your faction (exorbitant repair costs? less XP? less financial rewards?)
- Restriction on camo patterns/unit logos etc etc - You represent that Unit now.
- If you quit before your month long contract is over, you will receive reduced monthly salary/stipends and faction standings hit.
- You can obviously only do missions that psecifically involved your faction and attack enemies your faction are at war with
And who knows, when the Clans arrived, players can also pay a monthly sub to officially join them. Except perhaps pay higher...14.99 perhaps? Since they have easier access to higher tech equipment.

Pay for new free-to-public-access Intellectual Property leaving Harmony Gold on the curb without bus fare.
Pay a subscription fee for a customizeable team-play server system that I could configure and manage.
Pay for a customizeable HUD, Cockpit, and Dashboard.

But i never said, or never ment that every single item should have to be earned ingame..
Maybe repairs cost money, maybe you can pay for repairs, vrs having to go grind out quest to fix things. with that logic, i didn't earn my repairs..
*edit, i found another thread that has a discussion out the items, and what to pay for.. to me this thread is more of a, what do you want, not a discussion about why.. see the other thread for my logic if you like

No paint schemes. I'll be using my unit's paint schemes.
What I would pay for are things that are in the varient rules. Things like Thunderbolt LRMs or Swarmers.
I've been waiting AGES for a game that would let me play with a full-on inferno boat.
As the alternate ammunition is balanced against the default ammo normally, I don't see paying for the unique ammo to be "Pay to Win" Besides, someone who didn't pay could always salvage it. . .

Mechs/variants - say I unlocked or salvaged a timberwolf, I would pay to omni swap to the variant of my choosing.
Mech hanger space - number of maximum mechs you can have.
Mechlab time - simple upgrades or repairs are free. however the significant modifications should be orchard depending on the length of time. Like you are renting a factory for x amount of time.
Paint/camo - I'll pay to wear my clan's parade colors.
Decals/logos - clan affiliation. Multiple logos could be an option too. That way I could display my clan and cluster out trinary logo.

Say it's clear that you're going to lose a particular battle, you call in an EDE and if you get to it in time you get to leave the battle without incurring a mark in your tally of "deaths".
This idea only works if the game records and differentiates between 1) each player's number of kills and deaths and 2) how many games (battles) a player has won and lost.
An emergency extraction option would appeal to those players who are obsessive about keeping their stat sheet clean (ie. as few deaths as possible) without ruining the stats of other players as the players on the winning side would still get a game/battle win under their records. (Yes, the guy running away essentially robs one of the winning players of a kill but I think the focus should be on how many victories a player has, as this score better represents how well he works in a tactical team, rather than individual kills.)
Plus, the EDE need not be a walk in the park to get to, it could be placed on the outskirts of the map, necessitating a lot of dodging and weaving (skills in their own rights!) by the player seeking to escape.
You could also make in so that after the escaping player reaches the dropship it doesn't blast off right away which gives the opposing side the option to assault it, at their peril, if they wish.
Of course a sore loser could simply disconnect, thus escaping the battle without using an EDE. But this can be fixed by counting a disconnect as a death.

Having membership in canon units be a payment reward is an awesome idea. Thanks, Rollermint! I would prefer a different implementation, though: one-time payment to put a player character in the unit, and only equipment availability/price/etc. bonuses for explicit gameplay effects. Being in a unit with a distincly different playerbase is an unavoidable difference, but I'm totally cool with that. As long as character and battlemech performance on the field are the same as for the rest of us, and we all have at least some realistic access to any equipment in the game, there should be no reasonable complaints.

Different model means different combat behaviour. Which reflects on tactical advantage (or disadvantage) directly.
P.S.: I still think MW4 redesigns (Vulture, for example) look better than classics.

I decided to make a personal list of things I would be willing to pay for with my severely limited slightly below the poverty line income. More to point It would also give better constructive outlook on what other people would be willing to pay for and how much.
The things about the cash shops are not everything can or needs to be for cash. There needs to be a fair amount of earn-able items via normal game mechanics. Items that in their own right have prestige and are worth working to earn. If anything they should be slightly better then the shop items simply because they take so long to get. But like everyone says LOL Skins sell like hotcakes and people love instant gratification.
Disclaimer: As I said "This is a personal list of what I would be willing to spend money on and what I think would be a fair price for the service." If there is a box game with free +10% boost forever, I would buy that too. Any opinion on right or wrong is just that. Your opinion. Feel free to share your list and add to the free data and resources to the company making this game.
THE LIST
Special paint jobs and skins:
-Complete "Special Edition" paint jobs 1$-2$ for standard $5-$8 for special edition.(usable on all mechs in your garage)
-2$-4$ Patterns and stencil outlines with ability apply personal colors to mech.
-3$-10$ Special legendary and rare Personal insignia designs.
-1$ Color swab batches (more color tab options for personal configuration. If there were 15 color sets I would spend $15.)
-$2-$4 Special Mech part designs. (Different Mauler Head/cockpit window lay out, armor placement ect.)
-Hula girls $1-3$ and Special hula girls with very minor stat boosts.$3-$5
Special edition Mechs and vehicles variant: (depends on how load-outs are handled)
-$2-$5 depending on variant and "rarity"(Remember rarity does not mean OP. There are some
rare mech varieties that get curb stomped compared to the standard.)
-$5 Special edition mech variations that have their own custom non changeable
color swab & design.
-$6 for ^ but with a color change options.
Other:
- $3-$5 Voice packs for mech AI systems.
Boosts: (f2p staple, boost percent and pricing dependent on xp curve.)
Per win 4 to 10.
-Per win +100% Xp boosts $2-$7
-Per win +100% C-bill boost $5-$10
-Per win +50% Salvage boost (if applicable, maybe for a possible crafting system) $1-$10
Per day 1 to 5
-Per day +100% Xp boosts $5-$15
-Per day +100% C-bill boost $8-$17
-Per day +50% Salvage boost (if applicable, maybe for a possible crafting system)
Respec:
EDIT: Devs had said there will be no need to repec as over time everyone will max out their pilot profile sooner or later.
I still think there should be free respecs due to leveling time requirements. But that just taking the LoL reference to things.
New: Since we now know mech xp will slowly fill pilot xp I can see the need for respects with pilots alittle less. However I can see the need for respects with the mech skills past elite II. This is assuming you can't completely max out a mechs skill tree.
-$5 x1 variant re-spec for mech skills not including elite 1 & 2.
I'll edit and add to my post when I think of some more things I'd be willing to buy.
Can't wait to see everyone else list ideas.
Theory (ideas that are just quick outlines. Nothing set in plausible stone. Thus looking for major loopholes.)
General:
Loyalty abandonment doctrines: Gives the player an RPG/Mech Mission to change over to a different faction with the ability to bring over a set loyalty rank or set loyalty points into the new faction. Playing House Kurita till E5, defecting to FRR, and instead of starting new retain some "dignity" into the new faction. E3. Only usable one per faction. Reversing said results (going back to kurita from FRR) would follow normal game protocol and result in going back to Zero. If available at all. This is more a theory in progress.
Merc items:
- +% payment for merc cores for X duration. Similar to the +%credit and +%xp perks but for merc rewards.
- Special Merc dropship layouts.
- Special Base designs for mercs. (if there is ever clan/merc bases. Perhaps something special or 12 for those willing to look cool)
- Custom color palettes for said "merc bases".
- +3-5% chance of gaining an extra piece of salvage per mission/personal lost/enemy defeated with the chance this piece of salvage being undamaged. Follows +cp/xp time allowances.

Release mech paks with new designs at an affordable price and I'll probably get every one of them.
Also, single player content such as downloadable missions, maps etc. I realize there is no single player content currently planned for launch but I'd happily pay for some unique mission bundles, especially for those times when I'm feeling antisocial but still want to blow stuff up.
Companion Help. How about some NPC mechwarrior pilots to help out, either with single player content or multiplayer? I think you'll see this trend increasing in lots of games coming up (Skyrim and Star Wars the Old Republic to name a couple.) So down the line why not include some of this?
I don't think there will be many limits as to what people will pay for so long as the prices are affordable.

Yeah, you meant paint jobs.
You know what I'd like to purchase, poster size artwork. I'd also pay for a hat with my pilot name and faction emblem on it. I'd probably even be willing to buy a pilot jacket with the faction emblem on it. Nice black coffee cup with a emblem on it.
