I may have said this before at some stage, but that would have been a long time ago. I would pay the going rate, which seems to be about £40 to £45 for a MechWarrior V (Campaign based with Co-Op modes) actually marketed in the traditional way whereby I can go into one of our computer stores and buy a disc.

Will pay for nothing till It seems like PGI actually cares about new players. Right now they are meat for the exploiters and PGI seems fine with that. Could have feilded an 8 man with those i got to join but now I am back to single player. No one stayed and I cant blame them.

^This is true. This game seems to have a very steep learning curve. Maybe give new players free premium time at least? Maybe let them choose from a selection of several mechs so they can unlock abilities while they are saving up their first few million to buy a much. I'm not sure how high player retention is, but I imagine that it's low. This game takes WAY too much time, seriously. To earn an engine can take days for a casual player.

Also, make all items purchasable with mc. Make a mechlab android app so people will impulse buy new builds and mechs. If I can spend $30 and save myself 10 hours of c-bill grinding, I would do it.

Just when I was thinking that this game was sucking too much money for the value, you beat down CBill earnings, e.g. kills give you about half of what assists do now, AND KILLS ARE IDENTICAL TO ASSIST CRITERIA, but with the additional finality of rendering a mech no longer capable of farming damage.

At this point, I think greed (or desperation) is OP and needs to be nerfed. I'll pay not to get ***** [edit] LOL they nerfed the word R@ped. Just how much you folks expect to get in order for a player to be competitive? Even after paying $30 for a Hero mech for the 30% grind bonus, the rate of CBill inflation is rising faster than the US Dollar is losing value! Hasn't anyone learned yet that too much emphasis on the grind runs initial enthusiastic people away eventually? I recommend you hire an economist from a country that isn't going bankrupt.

You're killing some of us BattleTech fans here in the US. The world's going broke, and it seems there's no end to the escalation of money sucking in store for MWO fans looking to get their mech on. What we have to invest too much in today, becomes too quickly obsolete. Clan tech anyone? What will you have after that to come up with to release to keep getting paid assuming the reputation of being greedy doesn't chase away your customer base and bring you down early? Where's the long-term retention and comeback potential?

But I digress. What I REALLY came to talk about is:
Extend your vision passed the fast buck, and consider expanding MWO into a career before you nerf your own long-term earnings potential.

I'd especially pay for a Btech mech game more lasting and fluid than the simple FPS combat sim that appears to be coalescing here at MWO. This is just another FPS, but with mechs so far. Don't you want to be special?

Something to consider: A game with faction mech bays and sharable resources, supply chains and logistics, and fluid player initiated scenarios within an established 3D Inner Sphere and Periphery map to defend and fight over for galactic domination, competition for resources, and/or struggling to enjoy a "peaceful" existence of subsistence production. Something for everyone, and not just the typical mindless FPS KDR machines that MWO seems most eager to appease.

A game within where forming and hiring merc units to help your cause, espionage, and political drama could thrive. Eve Online can't give us Battletech fans what we crave: living the lifestyle. This is the longer lasting and deeper vision to keep people coming back and interested.

nerfing the xp/cbill income for free users is fine since you still get to play the game in it's full glory, only you have to work for your xp and cbills which is perfectly fair

but when i pay CASH MONEY for premium time, 50% extra just isn't going to cut it when i'm trying to earn for my next mech and so forth. if i pay CASH MONEY to earn extra xp/cbills, i would like to earn DOUBLE xp and cbills at the very least please

So spending "CASH MONEY" for a hero mech with 30% increased C Bill gains and then getting CBill gains nerfed to insignificance isn't a bait and switch spit in the face? Trust me, I've paid more "CASH MONEY" to play this game in beta than any on/offline video game in a gaming career spanning all the way back the late 1970s.

Being polite, it's not a way to win friends and influence people. Speaking plainly, it's just plain offensive B.S. Yes, the people that pay PGI "CASH MONEY" only to get F'd for it so often. The mechs we buy because they are appealing are nerfed within a month. How long will we take it? Will refunds be granted to dissatisfied customers? You only lose your reputation once, and word of mouth in gaming forums is online instant.

i never bought a hero mech so i forgot about that, but agreed - hero mech cbill/xp earnings should go up to at least 50% as well. pgi loses nothing by boosting those earnings for people paying into the game, and in fact would likely gain more people paying into the game if they make it more worthwhile to pay. pgi, reward people who give you money and you will make more money!

I would pay to be able to change my pilot name. Seriously. Why is this not enabled yet? I imagine tons of people would be willing to fork out money for the option.

I won't answer what I WOULD pay for but I will answer what I HAVE already paid for...
  • Founders package...
  • Mech Bays (at 36 with 30 filled)
  • Colors
  • Implied access to a social structure or organization and have ability to form mercenary companies. (unfulfilled)
  • Implied access to community warfare to fight over control of planets. (unfulfilled)
I will not pay for any more until the unfulfilled become fulfilled.

Cheers,
Lynx

A 1PV only mode, free of 3PV abusing trolls claiming "there is no advantage".

I'm not quitting the game yet, but I have started abusing it myself to stay competitive. Where I used to face-check a hill, I pop out UBER module and look for 1500m in all directions past my piece of cover to make sure it's safe. This is NOT the gameplay I am looking for. Take the balls of your game off the chopping block they are currently residing on, and sew them back on please. I'd pay you more money for THAT, specifically.

They lose premium time sales. 30% is huge already. In conjunction with premium time you are stacking an 80% boost. I'd say that's pretty powerful.

**** MY MECH !!

thats right how about some grills and extra bling to stylize your mech tomatch your personality .

not all about the bling ?? well thats ok baby cause we have that covered to with the low profile stealth kit you can trim down those blockty sholders and arms and stream line that profile .

feeling a lil retro? well how about some 20th century fins baby !! thats right add some sexy finnage to your mech to make it look all swanky .

and of curse last but not least mechs are about utility so forget the namby pamby grills, fins, and stealth mods lets hook that sucker up with winches , battle platflorms, ladders, and flood lights because when your in a mech its about being tuff not fluff.

regardless of your desire PGI MECH ALTERATIONS has a style to fit your needs, all for the right MC of course . :)

80% increased C-bill earnings in premium time. Why should I pay for it if it's not worth much?

One cannot kill heavy metal, and for heavy metal we all shall die. I would pay to avoid Heavy Metal mechs in the opposing team.

I would most definitely pay to have the Banshee BNC-Reinesblatt as a Hero Mech and a Banshee Early Bird Special for these variants to complete the Assault tonnage gap (3E, 3M, and 3S).
