I am Colonel Richard Sharpe, Commander of the 1st Steelwind Dragoons and I have placed this announcement on the recruitment boards because I believe we have something to offer that other Merc units don't:
Complete and Utter Bastardization.
Yes, I meant to say that. No, I am not currently drunk. Yes, I have been drinking.
You see, most Merc units try to lure you in with the same old catch phrases:
"We're Veteran Owned and run military style!"
"We're all friends for life!"
"We have been sucking The Wolf's Dragoons **** for decades and now we have a great MRBC rating!"
Let's face it, we all quit our House Militaries because that life makes one feel utterly miserable! Truly, and what I officer is something different. Are we a tight-knit group of Mechwarriors? Yes. Why is that so? Because we are still alive. Why are we still alive? Because we shoot enemies in the back, shoot their legs off and use grossly dishonorable pack-style tactics to achieve victory.
It's just good business. Cause a lot of damage, while not suffering a lot of damage. 'Mechs cost money, we all know that, we're just trying to make a profit. We have comprehensive Life Insurance policies and merit-based promotional incentives. No more, "Hey, I've been around for 83 sodding years! I deserve a promotion!" Here, you earn your way up, like any good business.
So, in closing, is the 1st Steelwind Dragoons for you? Probably not, especially if you're a ****** who believes in honor or the well-laid tenets of the MRBC (I'll regret that later, I know).
But, if you enjoy having fun in your life and being able to laugh about your last drop or you like having several dozen drinks with your fellow Mechwarriors in the morning before you start your mission, maybe we are right for you.
Everyone needs a home.
