Since I didn't wanna spam my own thread about my upcoming short film with these, I thought they might be worth a new topic. These are some clay renders of the low-detail models I'm using for my short film. Just the low resolution models without textures.

Under his head (Center torso)...there is some weird "smooth shader" artifact going on there.

(If Blender user: Have you tried edge split?)

Very very nice. I've never been big into digital art ( paper 'n pencil - a dying breed :D ) but these look very nice. I'd recommend beefing up the LL on that Wolfhound, and maybe moving the MLs up a bit on the CT, but it all looks good to me, mate.

Yes, I'm using Blender, thanks for the tip. I don't know which problem you mean though. Or do you mean the little artifacts on each side above the 3 lasers? The head itself looks a little weird with the smooth shader and the few polygons. However, I'm using a Toon-Shader in the final render of the short film and there are no artifacts visible there.

As far as modeling or texturing goes I have absolute know ambition to compete with some of the people here. Those are really talented. I'm just a jack of all trades, master of none.

Thank you! Unfortunately I can't really make any changes anymore, because most of the animation for the movie is done. For the future I would redo these anyway and put a little more detail into them after all. Even when animating a little more detailing does not hurt the render times too bad. Oh and I'm no good with a paper and a pencil. With a graphics tablet and a computer I'm doing okay... like I wrote above, jack of all trades...

Thats pretty awesome. I thought the head looked a little different though. But it still looks awesome.
