Let's hope they do a better job with the First Genyosha than they did with the 3rd Ghost.

The 1st Genyosha is an elite BattleMech regiment that was formed in 3027 by the order of Coordinator Takashi Kurita. Their stated purpose was to destroy the mercenary Kell Hounds, which the elder Kurita felt had slighted his honor. Their first and most notorious assignment came when Archon-Designate Melissa Steiner was kidnapped as she secretly traveled to New Avalon to visit Hanse Davion before their wedding. Tasked with recovering Melissa, the Genyosha were soon opposed by a unit of the Kell Hounds led by Patrick Kell. During that encounter Patrick was killed by the Genyosha commander Yorinaga Kurita, shortly before Dan Allard crashed into his 'Mech with a Valkyrie, disabling him and paving the way for Melissa Steiner's escape.

The Genyosha's conflict with the Kell Hounds escalated during the Fourth Succession War, with Yorinaga's focus turning to revenge for his loss in a legendary duel against the Kell Hounds' commanding officer Morgan Kell, who had come out of retirement following the death of Patrick. In 3029 Yorinaga caught up with the Kell Hounds on Nusakan, and was defeated there in an epic duel by Morgan Kell, a defeat that shamed him so completely that he took his own life in front of his staff. Several members of the Genyosha were then led by his son Akira Brahe to join the Kell Hounds.
