Yeah, IB is looking like a good CPU, but the performance difference between it and the 2600k isn't enough for me to upgrade.

Honestly, anyone with a current Sandy bridge chip is in the same boat, its just not a big enough upgrade from an I5 2500k or I7.
I'd even stretch to say if your building a new rig, and you need it now rather than later it's not worth hanging on for IB platforms.
