I think it would be cool for like a convoy game mode. at start team 1 spawns near the convoy and have to bring it to point B. while team 2 picks from several spawn points near the direct path that the convoy goes down to ambush them.

Yeah that sounds like something you would see quite a bit of in Battletech canon.

I was always a supporter of the idea that just because your mech isn't destroyed doesn't automatically mean you can re-spawn into a match. And that seems to be the default case! I like the limited re-spawn mode as well, as that gives house/merc units some flexibility and tactical options in deciding what forces to commit (like having a reserve line for a sports team).

Although I doubt this would ever make release, but IMO it would be awesome if they used the BTech MUSE/MUX gameplay dynamic of towing a lance-mate's destroyed mech back to base for repair and eventual return to the battlefield. Since the GDC gameplay video mentions "base capturing" as a team deathmatch game mode (perhaps a variant?), this could work. Performing such a task (towing another mech) would come at the cost of putting the towing mech at risk (greatly reduced speed, etc.) as well as removing the combat power that the towing mech might otherwise be able to project on the battlefield.

Plus, how cool would it be to salvage your opponent's destroyed mech for chassis' and parts? This would be totally in line with the BTech Universe.

I'm hoping for a co-op story-line, something well written that a lance can chew on.

the problem with storyline is the basis of the faction system. everyone wants to do their own thing, if you funnel them into a story you gotta make a massive spiderweb ordeal out of it.

I'd like to see an objective capture game mode; could be things like military/merc mech bases, HPG uplinks, factories, tech research facilities, etc. etc.

Personally, I'd like to see battle modes more than just the group-on-group types. Maybe it's just me, but I'm seeing a battle-mode for several of the different missions of the olders games.

I personally would like battle modes based on the search-and-destroy, defend a target, and stealth scan/assassination missions.

Merged with another thread about gameplay modes.

FYI: DropShip Mode should be called Attrition Mode... just sayin'

Thanks...

Attrition Mode: Interesting way to view it, taking more than one mech to a battle, changes a few of my gameplay ideas

In the interview, Russ says something about being inside and outside the cockpit. I wonder if you have to run from your damaged mech to the new one which was just dropped.

I'm not sure I understand you. Could you elaborate on that?

Drop ship Mode = Good Training Ground..

Persistent Mode = Real Game, planets change hands kinda thing.

I hope we can separate the kills "Types" by action on our kill boards.

My first thoughts...
