This is such that I could, say, fight as House Kurita in one account, and as a mercenary in another.

Even if you are all on the same network, each computer should be assigned it's own IP address. Unless you have gone in and tweaked with your router settings?

and I dont see any links to where it s stated no multiple accounts
so its clear they are aloud
Of course if it isnt aloud, the only people who will have them will be those
who abuse the privilege
you have to earn xp so why would having 2 or more accounts give you an advantage
if anything it would hurt you , slow down your advancement.
Just cause you dont like / have no use for something dont Hurt or limit others from
having the freedom.
we hate that which we dont understand.

With the mission contract system I've read about so far, I don't think you will be able to choose your opponents. At least, I believe that it would be quite easy for the developers to defeat this, also you would have to somehow set it up so that only your mechs/accounts are on the field because 1 other random player would totally screw up your system.

Only insane people would attempt to do to make accounts to fight themselves. But ... people are.
However, that does bring up a good point. In MW4, Units were like teams. Squaring off against that team that usually beat you was fun, and bidding them down to your liking was part of the game. I sincerely hope that we'll be able to link arms with our brothers and sisters and make sports like teams rather than it be a series of never ending "Finding opponent.... Finding opponents...." There is something very, very personal about MechWarrior, much like, again, your sports team vs theirs... I hope the players can control that in some fashion.

Of course, It has been my understanding that you will do battle as a team angainst another team, and you will be able to choose your team, but, as I understand it, the opposing team will be decided either randomly, or by some other non-random mechanic that players have no control over. Also if your team is short on players, you could pick up a random lone wolf player, or if your buddies were offline but you still wanted to play you could drop as lone wolf and be paired up with a random team.

as for multiple pcs in the household playing the game at the same time, the games on your pc, it can flag you based on your hardware ip np, and send that to the servers to verify, routers are too easy to spoof they stopped going by router ip years ago for anything serious about security (like if you email the president a threat, they have your computers internal information on the ip of the network card and your login name and your windows id code and they will find you and black bag over your head you to guantanamo)
as per boxxing more accounts on the same pc, alot of games wont let you run multiple instances anymore, like ff14 and swtor for examples, you cant run them more then once at all even with multiple install locations.
as per different people using different accounts at different times on the same pc, not sure, they might flag you as suspicious and watch you to make sure you arent up to trying to exploit things.
