As others have mentioned previously, we are a large and very active unit -- well over one hundred registered MechWarrior players on the roster, at least half of which play the game on a regular basis. We typically have 15-20 people in our TeamSpeak channel during US prime time on any given night, so it's never hard to find a group to run with. We are at 252 member currently. We have approx.. 100 of those member actively participating regularly. Most of us have families so we are very flexible with participation.

It is good to see some new faces around, looking forward to the drops, especially with some big changes on the horizon and the holidays at a close we should be seeing a lot of our core players back in the drop groups.

To expand on my 01/07/14 post, I joined the unit during Closed Beta. I had been out of first person shooter games for over 7 years and I totally sucked at piloting and hitting a target. My fellow Blackthornes welcomed into the family and began to teach me about the mechs, their strengths and weaknesses. Then they began to teach me how to be a good MechWarrior. Now I am classified as a Veteran in the unit that contributes to our unit winning. I have a lot of friends that I drop with and we have fun. You may not know it but you want to be part of our fun family unit. Join us to become part of a good winning team. As Aeron Slay (our leader) has said, we are recruiting!

I run with this Merc corps and have great pride in it. We are casual and friendly on Teamspeak, and yet professionally unforgiving in-game. If you see the Blackthornes salute in the global chat, get ready for a fast and brutal fight.

A tip to all other players: Watch out for Svidro. He's a force of nature. Do not come within line of sight if you value your 'mech. Gad, I even steer clear of that guy while playing on his team.
