I, for one, would buy you all a round of drink for compatibility with the Steel Battalion controller. Maybe make an extra layer of difficulty by coding in start up sequences, falling over and all the tricky little buttons like flares, chaff, lights, windscreen wipers and so on...
anyone else behind this drink bribe?

There are already drivers out on the net to use it... it's a matter of mapping the buttons to keys on the kb which then map to controls in the game.
You'll need to create a converter cord to make usable with USB, but it's all possible. Search these forums, there are posts out here about it.
I highly doubt the devs will specifically make the game fit that controller, considering it's not even a valid PC device in the first place, and they don't have the legal rights to use it.
EDIT:
I do plan on trying to use mine using the drivers I found once the game is out. Trust me there will be a post out here about it when I do.

Are these drivers for Win7?

For legal reasons, this is impossible. For niche reasons, this is impossible.. for the dev team.
As stated the best bet is 3rd party drivers that interface with Windows. They are out there, and it can be done. This really falls into fan project territory; again it doesn't have to mod the game, just interface with Windows - the game gets it's input from there.
