That's not what your SOP doc appears to say.

"B. The All Or Nothing Policy
-- If you join Black Widow Company, you play with BWC. You did not join BWC to be part-time. You joined to be part of Gaming Excellence. This applies to all current and prospective members. All officers and NCOs will be policing this policy as they do with every other policy. If you actively play on the same server as any of the fully-supported games that BWC plays, you will be required play with us in each supported game, with no alternates in other outfits or factions on that same server. Semi-supported games do not count for All-Or-Nothing, but the rest of the SOP does count for those games."
So if I PUG, and I wind up against others, that's a strike against me. No thanks.

Nah, it's not viewed like that. For MWO it applies mostly to 12-man drops and purposely playing against BWC forces with another Corp. In solo or 4-man pug drops we play the game normally. I've shot out numerous BWC members and 4-man teams, it's more fun even to shoot friends :D Remember that the sop applies also to games like Planetside where you can't do instanced games where you might end up on different sides.

I don't know then. You're telling me one thing, your doc says another.

I'm not actively trying to mislead you, just telling the spirit of the SOP as it's always been applied during the year I've been with BWC.

"1.) Being on Teamspeak3 *AND* having a functioning microphone are mandatory when playing any game that BWC officially supports. When you're in-game, you're on the BWC Teamspeak server. We require that you use Push-to-Talk because mouth-breathers on voice-activation are annoying. Furthermore, whilst you are not required to talk over a microphone as a line-unit member of BWC, we do set forth that if you are a PS2 squad leader, PS2 platoon leader, MWO lance leader, MWO drop commander, member of a game division's C&S, or Senior C&S, you will be required to use it to transmit when operating in a leadership role in-game."

So if I only have 45 minutes, and I want to drop a couple PUG games, you are against that.

No thanks, you're just another of those stuck up crews. Pass.

In practice, popping on TS is not big deal when all you're looking to do is grind for a few. Oftentime I find some other folks to lance-up with and grind together, making it a bit more coordinately than the regular PUG jungle - if you're working out a new LRM boat you can often find a spotter someone is grinding, or at a minimum a buddy to pair up with for maximum grinding effect.

I gave it a try after reviewing a bunch of groups and find that BWC is super-friendly and I've begun to enjoy playing more when having comms via TS. It's also nice to pop in and join for larger groups where the real fun happens...

Yeh one of the best thing is you will never really Pug again. Its rare to log in and not find a lance with room for one.
So its really a benefit because having someone with you that you know will have your back will make all the difference even in Pug matches. Even in the middle of the night we always have people on from all over the world so our TS is never ever empty.

Hello Master Q,

To clarify what you are reading:

1) 'All Or Nothing' means we want you to play with BWC in our supported games in case you play anything other than MWO. If you do meet other BWC on the battlefield you are free to engage, and this happens all the time, and a lot of time.

2) We don't want you to be on our Teamspeak when you play. But people Pug by themselves all the time to grind and whatever. I've been in your described situation where I only have a little bit of time to get some drops in. I hang out in TS and do so.

3) Your work situation wouldn't be our only situation like that. A good friend of mine drives a truck and is gone for a couple weeks at a time. We also have military that have to take off for various times. Your level of commitment is up to you.

BWC is as casual or as competitive as you want to make it for yourself. We offer all kinds of in-house operations that really give a fresh perspective to the game. If you have more questions/concerns, ask away. You've brought up some great points that needed clarification, and I hope I've answered them.

I would love to focus on that point as well for a second.

"BWC is what you make of it" is my favourite quote regarding that.
It doesn't matter if you play a couple of hours a dayor only log in once every week/every two weeks.
It is very important for us that we aren't viewed as "hardcore gamer guild" we are an international multicultural gaming community. And with that come different players, different timzones and different time regulations.

We are proud of that, and that won't change.

The new Spawn points have changed the game significantly. I like the way you have to be even more Organized now to get people into the right position. It does on the other hand make puggin even more chaotic because those split of lances often go off on their own and are never seen again lol.

Don't be a victim of less than intelligent Pugs, join BWC and never pug again!

True ! I'm a member of this unit since a bit more than six month now, and I can say that I enjoyed every minute in game with them. Having a well run organization that focuses on tactics and teamwork is an incredible improvement on the fun you have playing the games you like.

Your level of commitment is up to you. We don't have requirements for attendance or anything like that. We know you have a life outside MWO, and it's more important. But, like Gerd said, you end up having so much fun that you make BWC a priority and spend a good deal of time in the game anyway.

Whether casual or pro, BWC offers much for any person in any phase of their life. Be as active as you wish, or as inactive (to a point of course!).

Flexibility is great here and we treat real life priorities first, many of our members have probably been through the same things you have!
