Had to stop listening to podcasts after MDB 4, any more that are available to download will be needed for the 7+ hour drive home for Christmas so hopefully a couple episodes will be ready. Maybe will listen to a few of the early episodes again for laughs.

I know Daeron has yet to sleep according to TS stuff since he is still up so hopefully they will be out soon! Due to exams I have yet to hear them myself so I too want to listen!

Don't mean to imply putting any pressure on, completely understand all NGNG goodness is a result of the contributers donating they're own time and effort. Appreciate everything ye do whenever ye have time to do it. Hell there is enough RL interference at this time of year as it is (God bless amazon.co.uk saviour of Christmas shoppers everywhere, or at least throughout UK & Ireland) so editing podcasts is understandably forced down the to do list.

EDIT: P.S. Loving the show, please get that uber nerd from the other podcast (arbitreraly something..) back, he knows everything! Plus his hot sounding (but not as hot sounding as BB, of course) wife.

Any chance of reducing the turnaround between recording and posting the shows? I love listening, but all this info is 2-3 weeks old now.

Honest criticism:
There is a tonne of wasted space at the top of the page. Overall the page has a harder time conveying it's information because of the shape of the links at the top. People typically view on a widescreen monitor and will give less than a second to trying to find what they want on a page. Having to scroll down every time past the big over-the-top folder icons to see what's new is a pain.
I get that you were trying to make it look cool and I can see some functionality improvements behind the scenes but it is just too much. If you look at any popular website you will see that they shrink the links you need to see into a small organized list at the top, look up at the MWO website even. The menu that you have is very good. I would recommend that you use only that and eliminate altogether the large folders. Also the top art piece is just taking up space, if you could include the 'login' and 'register' links, along with the facebook etc. links in the menu and move down your logo to the start of the menu you could cut out that top piece altogether. Maybe put the art as a backdrop or something (you guys usually have very well done art)

The black rectangles over brown background with large drop shadow looks a bit tacky and the inconsistency on the formatting of objects in the readable space is distracting. Consistent spacing in your CSS layout will go a long way to making the website look more professional, try to use a grid for the main part of the website so that all of your sections line up.

I'll PM you a link to an image I threw together in photoshop of how I think it could be improved. Please don't take offence to this, I'm trying to be as constructive as possible. I care about NGNG, I even donated $2 to you guys a while back.

BlueNinja, no apologize needed. We have already started looking at reducing and or taking out the large buttons. I'll make sure to take your notes and look at our current list of fixes. Thanks for the honest feedback!

Neat ECM discussion going on in the World According to Garth section in Ep 56.

Quick summary:

They know there's a problem. But have waited to figure out what the problem is and what can be done to solve it.
Used in about 3-4 mechs in competitive 8v8 play. Trending down. (I'd suggest that it's trending down because people are getting bored with it, not necessarily because it's lost its effectiveness).

Common and popular player suggested solution: Use BAP to counter ECM.
Garth Counterpoint: Renders ECM useless - because everyone would just start carrying BAP, because it can be carried by everyone.

Reasonable compromise that they touch on: Perhaps instead of completely eliminating, it can reduce the effectiveness of ECM.

My take: Exactly. BAP = 500m detection, and doubled lock on for SSRMs and LRMs. That is, ECM is still useful, but it's not game breaking as it can be right now.

Also, it's exactly the nerf required for ECM lights that are currently running around with impunity. My recent poll revealed that pretty much everyone thought the Raven 3L was OP. If it could be hit with SSRMs, a good deal of that OP factor would be reduced.
