The name of the thread says it all. What is you favorite faction from any where in or out of the inner sphere? Anytime line is fine, and mercenary units count also.

I'm torn between Clan Diamond Shark / Sea Fox, and the Magistracy of Canopus. The Diamond Sharks because more then any other group they have that same love of making the deal that I do, and the Magistracy because of well you know... all those beautiful woman, I mean come on its like the Battletech equivalent of eastern Europe.

Clan Goliath Scorpion on this end because they favor strategic strikes instead of simple frontal assaults and finding Lostech. I also like the Draconis Combine simply because I love Japanese Feudal history. Samurai Warriors were my favorite historical warrior.

As far as the clans go I always found Clan Hells Horses and Clan Snow Raven interesting thanks to both focusing on other forms of military equipment than Battlemechs. Tanks and Infantry for HH (love the epona) and Naval forces for SR.

I would have to go with Clan FrogDust, there only talked about, as far as i know, one time in any of the books. So there is a whole mysterious
side to them. That and Clan Ghost Bear, i just like them in general.

For me my two are federated suns and clan ghost bear. The suns i like because they have fanatical enemies on both sides and have came out of it better off . No other house is quite in the same position. plus they are innovators. as for clan ghost bear i have always enjoyed their lore and founding. Also i love their designs and determination. Grizzly battlemech is my perfect ride. It is not an omni with all the bells and whistles. It is a standard battlemech that's sturdy and mean.

The Eridani Light Horse is my favorite mercenary command, because they are elite mercs and remain true to the ideals of the original Star League and the SLDF. And of the Great Houses, I'm 100% for House Davion.

Clan Coyote because science and OmniMechs. Also, their allies (Ghost Bear, Wolves, Diamond Sharks, Hell's Horses) are pretty cool too.

Kell Hounds, Eridani Light Horse, and Northwind Highlanders. No particular order, just love all three equally.

Free Worlds League: They've got an interesting, multicultural society that covers many religions and traditions not typically dealt with in sci-fi, huge internal politic issues early on and are far and away the most powerful house later just through avoiding conflict with the Clans, civil wars and everything else that damaged the others. It's a shame FWL has the least number of fans (As the also interesting CapCon has the underdog factor on lockdown), because they really do have one of the most interesting faction histories.

Also worth noting is FWL is heavily focused on combined arms more than the other houses, has pushed upgrade kits to more of their regiments than anyone else in the InnerSphere and has one of the best space fleets. Their diverse peoples, regions and the political conflicts within them set against a democratic republic that's technically been usurped by the Captain-General give them a lot more depth than just "Space Japan." I think they are woefully under appreciated.

Clan Frogdust? What? I'm pretty sure you were hallucinating when you came up with that - where'd you hear it? FrogDust is just such a stupid name, I can't imagine it ever getting mentioned unless it was Dark Ages or something.

I think you might be thinking of the Minnesota Tribe, which is thought to have been an exiled/fleeing Clan Wolverine.

Gray Death Legion, the Warden Wolves, Clan Ghost Bear, the Draconis Combine, and both halves of the Federated Commonwealth (provided Katherine Steiner-Davion isn't in power at the moment...). The Capellan Confederation would probably be up there too, if not for their rulers' bat-**** insane tendencies...

I am always partial to the Black Thorns and Avanti's Angels. I love small merc units that are usually never bigger than a Battalion. 2 companies tops. Because it is truly from there, you can see what is it like to really run a merc company.

Also a small number of people actually gave every mechwarrior a name, which fleshes things out instead of being tossed aside for the main leads.

Does Victor Davion even remember his other pilots other than Sortek, Tancred or Archer ?
No Dragoons slamming their Zeta Reserved Battalion (from out of no where) against the Kuritans on Misery antics here.
Hell Waco Rangers can put them to shame by numbers alone.

These guys are the REAL fighters !
