In addition to the red glow indicating a rough direction of incoming fire, could we get a small red dot on the compass that would decay after a configurable number of seconds (5-15?)? This would be useful for determining exactly which direction, hill, or building an ambushing enemy had recently used to fire at you from.

This isn't too far fetched, while I don't think its a bad idea I'm worried that it may be a little too exact as to hurt some of the stealth elements in gameplay.
