Oh by the power of my steaming PPC please have server in or close to Australia. Don't let my pitiful ping kill this game for me.

All Points Bulletin didn't have an Australian server, now I'm not saying that game failed because it didn't win over any Aussies, but look at it this way: not having Australian servers didn't make it successful, now did it?

Not from Australia personally, but please, give these guys their own server.
As much as I love 'em, I'm sure we'd both rather not deal with lag.

Australian servers traditionally die within months, if not weeks. Rather be using a US west coast server with some population on it; mechs don't move fast enough for 200-300 ping to be a serious problem.

I've always been proud to call myself Australian, but i do agree that an Aussie server probably wont last long with the current demographic. maybe one based near Australia which caters for players from other regions would work, but I'm not sure.

I'd love to see an Aussie server but our internet is behind compared to other countries, hence why Blizzard nor Bioware will have servers here for their MMO's.

I wasn't initially in favor of an aussie server but after looking at the gameplay video, which does seem quite twitchy and favor folks with lower pings quite immensely, I think I may change my mind.

That said, an aussie only server will quickly die, I don't think there are enough numbers to warrant such a high cost. You are going to need more than that, you better pray that there is enough interest from the rest of the SEA/East Asian regions to support that server.

I just hope that the game will at least be playable at 200-300 pings. I have no issues whatsoever playing WoT at that rate. Also, there are quite a significant presence of asean gamers in WoT so with proper marketing, PGI can definitely garner quite a market for a East Asian/SEA/Oceanic server.

You lot of girls. If you can't lag shoot then your not a true Aussie MechWarrior lol.

That said. x a billion for an Aussie server.

All the Kiwi players would appreciate an Aussie server as well as we get pretty good pings over the ditch.

I'll put down that our group alone has 30 registered members on our merc group website alone. I know there's also a couple of other aussie groups out there as well, not to mention all those that want to go with a faction or lone wolf. There's also more interest coming in slowly but surely from other places within the asian region. Let's face it, it's time we loyal fans were given a chance! :)

An Aussie server would be a great addition (not just saying that because I am an Aussie :) ) but let us face reality: as was already said in this thread, Aussie servers tend to die out on online games because they do not draw in the same amount of gamerss that other servers do (notable USA West Coast, Great Britain and even Spanish). If that is as a result of Australia's isolation in terms of location to the rest of the World's countries, or that we Aussies are not as big on online gaming as Europeans or americans, or that our entire national population could fit snuggly into New York City (and have room to spare)... I do not ever see an Aussie server as being worthwhile.

Metalisticpain said it best:

Philippine player here. I'm also looking for ward to an Aussie Server. If they don't like it labeled as an Australian Serer, why not repurpose it to be for South-East Asia & Oceania? or something like that... there's a lot of us here in SEA who play mechwarrior/battletech. But our ping is horrendous when we get to North American Servers... and mostly DOA on european servers. (we've survived for so long on performing Unconditional Lag Tactics for most of our games to the point of precognition, we've pretty much forgotten how to play without Lag.

A server closer to us will benefit a lot of players, not just Australians :)

Don't abandon us like so many other games. Please, we beg of you. Not for something this amazing.

Agreed about the lag. It takes the fun out of it when you have to go searching for a server that is fewer in players, when, while the game content is the same, there is not as much challenge when you are only playing against 500-3,000 players, compared to the hundreds of thousands to literally millions on other servers (usa west coast!!!!)
Bring on an Oceania server! (sounds much cooler than calling it the SEA or what have you)
