Not just a heavy, it is THE Free Worlds League heavy, produced almost exclusively at Kali-Yama.

Orion looks nice but is it really worth getting over other mechs in it's class? What does it offer that's unique (except different hitboxes).

its 75 tons which sets it at the top of the heavy field and its hardpoints allow you to easily set it to an obscenely dangerous brawler or a good long range support mech.

I am intrigued, do you have an example of a brawler loadout?

Got a question, been thinking of switching to Marik for a good while. But, always seems as though lyran alliance is over all better and Marik seems to focus way more on using tanks over mechs for the most part. Any good reason to jump ship?

A few good reasons (and mostly has nothing to do with types of vehicles we run):

1) A growing singular community with a close knit group of FWL Units all dropping with each other to fight for the purple eagle.
2) We run several fun and interesting events within the group of units of the FWL. Monday Marik Madness (anybody can attend, inside and out of the house). Friday Night Fun Night/Drinkin' & Syncin'/Saturday Date night and some 12v12 friendly games with additional rules to mix it up a bit
3) An active forum discussing the finer details of tactics, builds and general fun topics to reply to
4) Offering fresh new experiences for those who want to step back from MWO for a tad, yet keep the Battletech experience going by signing up for Megamek campaigns and Solaris matches.
5) Giving you the opportunity to join any Unit within the FWL if you wish to try out your competitive edge in 12-man drops.

If other groups offer you the same, I see no reason to leave.

Marik focuses on combined arms with large infantry and tank units with the best tech outside of the ComGuard and are all about air superiority. If that's not reason enough how bout a rich and conflicted background within itself and with Liao and Steiner and if you want more Marik produces the most advanced tech in the IS and its economy rivals that of the Lyrans.

Edit: my smart phone is pretty stupid when it comes to words

Sounds interesting to me. Let me look over the actual website and go from there but you may have just got a convert. Will say that I am a bit of a fan of the old school Mechwarrior/Battletech. So might be the way to go for me.

When deciding what house to join you have to ask yourself one question.

What would Blake do?

As a former Steiner (in a past life), I can attest that the FWLM is much more active and fun than Steiner.

There will be SO many Marikans participating in the launch party! If you're even curious what we're about you owe it to yourself to come on by and see a Marik booze/launch party!
