Using Canasists Osiris paper plans I started to build the model out of styrene

I then gave it a nose job

This model was to be my first go at pressure casting resin which to cut a long story short means far superior copies.

Building the home made vaccum/pressure chamber was a MASSIVE pita! A heady mix of dyslexia, imperial and metric parts meant I ordered lots of wrong size fittings much to my frustration. Added to that I was told to fill the master with resin this was a major mistake the resin and the styrene reacted with each other and the masters went goopy in places "oh noes *cries*"

The model almost got binned but I got talked into fixing it and I'm glad I did. All the parts have been moulded and pressure cast in resin.

It's standing here primed (black, tin, boltgun metal) ready for the first coat paint. While the legs are assembled the upper body is not glued to make for easier painting.

So here's the finished model. She stands in at 16cm in ELH two tone desert ridge line, nice and battle worn, an AC10 shell has brushed CT but she's still good to go.

that's really beautiful work! Would love to see what you can do with a ST-8A Shootist sometime!

The build is superb, but your painting and weathering skills are something to be admired and as Kyuui said, to be envied ;)

As with the paper models, a good skin / paint job, really makes all the difference.

Keep up the good work, and what is your next project ?

What I admire is your ability to not only build but actually paint your mechs.
Mine end up sitting in grey primer for years at a time.

You are not alone there, my friend. I have the building bug...not the finishing bug.

Wow thank you all for the nice comments. I love making them it's a great hobby for me I started doing it to pass the time between the release MWO atlas pieces. I hope one day I'll be building MWO mechs and posting about it here. Hopefully Mektek will relax a little over opening MW4 meshes to the public we'd see allot more mechs being released in paper form.

It's hobby for me but yes I can make more of my models (however its not a production line, I don't wish to volatile any copyrights). If you'd really like one I could make you one for $68/52euro which all goes to the Wife Shoe Appeasement Fund :P

I'm just glad guys like you are realising the paper models for me to continue to enjoy my hobby. I had a go at 3D mechbay you sent me. Many swear words later and for the sake of my desk/forehead I decided to stick with stuff I can touch and/or hit with a hammer if it upsets me

Highlander is next after that there's another two I.S. mechs in the pipe. On the clan side could be tempted by the Thor/Loki combo since they share arms and legs and means I could get 2 mechs in 1/2 the time. The Mk2 Madcat is also on my want list as one of the defining MW4 mechs.

You can grab all these designs from www.mechwarrior3.org (link seems to be down atm) or from Blaar's own site
