[Gun Bear]

I am (Brevet) Colonel Gun Bear and I'll admit this is a shameless attempt to drum up interest in Gun Special Squadrons by answering any questions people have about my attempt to start up a unit since I don't have much info in the front page of the sign up thread.

Q: What is GSS about?
Its about forming a group of players who want to be competitive in the game but still have fun; we aren't going to discriminate against players based off of skill level or how often they can be online. I also want GSS to be about the MW:O community and keeping it a great forum to visit and make the game environment a great place to play.

Q: What makes you think you should lead a Merc Corp.?
Nothing, I'm the Brevet Colonel, once the company is formed we will vote on who should be the unit CO.

Q: Where does GSS come from?
GSS originated in tabletop and was later formed into a Vengeance League Team. The idea was created by Stacy Kessler, who went by the handle Valkyrie, she is no longer for this world.

Q: What is a Gun? I don't see the rank on your recruitment page.
Gun is a title, not a rank. When someone performs admirably over a course of several matches other players can nominate them for the title of Gun and list the reasons why, if they have a second than the entire company can vote on whether or not they have earned the title of Gun. I earned the title of Gun while commanding scout and hunter killer groups in Vengeance League about 9 years ago.

Q: Does GSS have a forum or a website?
No not yet; I'm trying to get at least a lance sized element to sign up before that happens.

How do people gain rank and advance in Gun Special Squadrons?
Nobody will ever be forced or expected to advance through the GSS ranks if they don't want to. Promotions in rank will be awarded on seniority, ability, and willingness to advance through the ranks.

I haven't seen anyone join GSS, why do you persist?
Because I'm a member of Gun Special Squadrons and I wish to see this unit grow and exist on MWO, even if existing means having less than a lance worth of pilots for its duration.

Does GSS have any rules about using microphones for communication during matches?
No hard and fast rules but basic microphone etiquette is expected (ie no eating, no talking to people not on the voice chat, no going afk with babies crying in the background... the usual stuff that is both annoying and distracting to other players) we expect people to turn thier microphone off if they must do those things.
