Dedicated T3. It's the only way to ping.

If you are going to go totally top end...why not just get an OC3 line directly into your computer room?
Solves all the problems of lag.
Of course the cost might be up there a bit...LOL

Is it bad that I know people who could still probably saturate that connection? I have a friend in high school that's apparently on a mission to download the internet (constantly buying new 1-2TB HDDs to house his ever-expanding collection of junk).

My options appear to be Charter Cable, Centurylink DSL, and some local wireless thing. We're pretty limited up here at the top of Wisconsin, USA. I guess I have to see what speeds come at what price. Through Speedtest.net I have a ping of 97ms, a download speed of 0.75Mbps, and an upload speed of 0.26Mbps. I know I can get a bit faster, but I don't know how much yet. Obviously faster would be better, but does anyone think those numbers would work with the game?
That's pretty bad to be honest. I can get the same with a cheap prepaid USB modem (with unlimited prepaid data plan options) here that they sell at 7-11 without needing a subscription. I'm in the Philippines and our internet is horrible.

Catamount....there is NEVER enuf bandwidth....no matter how fast your connection...LOL
Even if your had a fiber cable the size of an elephant's you know what stuffed into the back of your computer, someone would claim he could overload it!
Of course...the problem I run into is that even though I have a fairly fast connect....the other end is choked by slower connect or too many ppl trying to download at the same time.
Until we all get fiber...and the servers are upgraded to feed those lines...patience....oooooooommmmmmm!
LOL

I'm a fellow wisconsinight (wisconsinite? wisconsiknight?) with the same options as you. Go with charter.
I'm not in love with charter as a company, but DSL in our area just isn't fast enough to keep a solid connection and low ping while playing most modern games. (I live in town, so I've always had charter, but several people I knew were limited to DSL out in the country and were quite pleased when they switched to cable)

I've used both Charter and Centurylink, Charter throttled my internet like mad, most downloads would fail because they would throttle me down so harshly, and Centurylink was faster every time I used them. Also they had better customer service.
So eh.

I usually just use cheesehead

I stuck with Centurylink since I'm in town and it seems to be working fine so far, they did jerk me around on billing but the price is supposedly locked for 5 years now and for what I need it's less expensive than Charter. Several friends are in love with Charter, so go figure.
