I don't know how to submit questions for future Q&A so I apologize if there is an obvious place as I was unable to find it.
I noticed that the AC 20 shots in the recent in game video released traveled at the same (if not very close to the same) speed as the SRM's. This is a speed that looks to be much slower than all of ballistics in other MW titles.
Was this intentional? And what was the design reasoning behind it?
Does this apply to smaller calibers? (AC2-10) Or do they have differing speeds?
If they are the same, is there a concern that the lighter AC's will not be viable at their peak ranges due to the inability to effectively hit a moving target due to that slow travel time?
I am not complaining. Thu far the design team has shown they have a great sense of the game and the battletech universe and because of that I have great faith. But faith becomes stronger by questioning it and watching it win out.
(NOTE: (this is for potential replies) I am aware that "It will take skill because you have to lead the target". We all saw how slow it traveled, and the targets were close and barely moving most of the time. Now apply the same speed, at longer distances, and slightly faster mechs, piloted by players that know how to constantly adjust their throttle. I would like to see smaller weapons be very useful. Lord knows they weren't in MW4)
