By firing one every second. It freezes for 6 seconds. The cast rate is about one a second. I sometimes use only 5, because the Frost Diver itself takes 1.5 seconds to cast, and its cooldown is 5 seconds - thereby refreezing the enemy 0.5 seconds after it unfreezes. This can be wonderfully good at reducing damage.

It's easier for me because the servers are located around here. WIth your ping, you're looking at a ~ 300ms x 2 lag - info from server to you back to server. That's 0.6 seconds. With that your actual casting time will be around 1.6 seconds instead of 1, so you'd end up firing 4 at most, but very likely only 3.

There are actually about 20 classes in RO2 - 5 1st job, 10 second job, but about 2-3 ways to build very efficient second jobs, depending - since we only get 50 levels to play around with. When we take into account inefficient second jobs, there's way more diversity than that.

By inefficient, I mean a Sorc that has maxed Fireball to do DoT while doing DPS using Lightning/Ice builds. It's inefficient because it'd drop the damage of the Lightning/Ice tree, and the DoT will be erased by any Wizard in the party. It's still a possible build though.

Ahhhh, I knew something was wrong once I watched another Lightning Bolt mage doing the same thing I was doing but way faster. I have this feeling that I really ought to be switching to a different class with skills that aren't dependent on an insta-cast to do bread-and-butter damage. Any suggestions? I really do have that Thief and Ranger and Acolyte and Swordswoman waiting to catch back up to you.

Not archer. The concentration part requires relatively precise timing, and you'll need minimal lag to use Double Strafe effectively.

I'm not sure about the other 3 classes. A laggy healer may lead to a dead party, so that leaves two melee classes, of which the thief has a higher attack speed.

By elimination, that'd put Warrior and Wizard as probably the most lag-independent class types.

They added a new world, Freyja. It has about half the fullness of other worlds at the moment.

I've heard Wizard has the second lowest DPS of all the 2nd Jobs. Can you confirm?

Can't confirm, I haven't played it. A lot of their skills are DoT type so that would lead to much smaller flying numbers, though.

Also, are there skill resets? I've heard Monks get their skills reset upon job change and I was wondering if I could respec my Magician to go Wizard instead.

As far as I know, there's no reset. I'm saving my skill points for lvl 25 now that I have all my essential skills already, and the moment it hits I'll have maxed heal spells ready. =P

Gaming is important, it helps escape the sad reality here. XD

My working theory is that exploitation of others followed by the fear of being exploited by others is a very negative way to live life, as opposed to supporting others with the expectation of being supported by others. And we really do take the 'use of people' to a very high art here. I suppose that's our number one advantage and number one disadvantage in the same package. Because people here are good at exploiting others, we are good at manipulating deals, companies, contracts.. it makes for very profitable propositions. But the resultant complete loss of humanity in the society makes for one very unhappy society.

The article has a point though. Certain cultures voice positivity and negativity differently, and that would skew a standardised questionnaire. That said, Japan also voices positivity very much and underplays negativity, and yet it fell below that of the Latin American countries. Work stress maybe? Fear of radiation from the northeast? I've no real idea, but anyhow, according to this metric at least, there's no worse place to live than where I'm living now.

So a few hours ago I was wondering what had happened with Knowledge when we were both online concurrently. You had said you were level 14-15, but in-game it showed you were level 4.

Then I was browsing the PlayPark RO2 forum and found your post about restarting your character.

I liek MMORPGs. I tend to train much faster than most. I have nowhere as much time near that of the top people, though, so it's not going to be very possible to get to much of a record other than say... 'top 5000'.

So yeah, my character select screen is full. How important is it really to be self-sufficient regarding equipment (weapons, armor) in the game? Making your own equipment seems like a good idea to avoid having to pay prices at auctions, but after you get your equipment levels all green and you have nothing else to make, aren't you forced to hunt bosses anyways for blue equips?

Yes, yes you are. Therefore, I think it's actually better to be a cook/alchemist.

That said, I think blacksmiths and artisans have the ability to Upgrade equipment as well - including blue equips to blue+ equips.

... you'll have to tell me what other names you want. Unfortunately there can only be 10 positions (because they were meant to be ranks, not names XD) so there's a limit to how many named characters there can be. For everything else, they will have to use the basic rank 'Yukkuri'. The guild symbol is 'maboroshi', or 'dream' - also, the first word of Gensokyo. Unfortunately it's limited to 32x32 px so I can't quite get very creative here.

Currently, the positions are set to:

1. Patchouli
2. Yakumo
3. Goddess
4. Celestial
5. Inaba
6. Miko
7. Youkai
8. Fairy
9. Scarlet
10. Yukkuri

The guild motto has to be changed to ゆっくりやっていってね、because して is blocked by the censor and I can't use Japanese characters.

Also, should I create a Gensokyo page on the PlayPark forums? If so, after that we can move our RO2 discussion there and keep this thread for MWO/whatever other games/real life.

By the way, I can't seem to add you guys. Apparently, you must be online in order to be added to the Guild.

If I'm at the computer, I'll be hanging around in C3's Lance 3, send me a message or something. I might take a break from RO2 soon, the community is starting to get on my nerves there. Can't say I expected much from my countrymen, but they exceeded my worst expectations yet again.

I got a ticket to Steelport (SRTT), and probably won't be on as often. Next patch might reel me back with the Spider and its 8 Jump Jets.

Might jump over to the FRR, it's between Steiner/ Kurita, and later on Clanners. Depends on how badly I want Defiance Industries mechs. [Then again, Space Vikings are extremely cool.]
