I really liked what I saw in the video...especially how the floating HUD looks! I was wondering if the floating screens that are in front can be exchanged for the screens behind them either individually and/or as a group, because that would be a terrific keyboard command.
Also, can anyone give at least an approx. date of release and/or beta trials. Will we need to buy direct, via Steam, or retail?
Great work guys...I can't wait til it's out!

Regarding the floating arm-related reticule:

If you have missiles on either or both your arms, will you be able to target, lock, and flick fire missiles like we could in MW3? That would be great. They have already said that you cant lock on targets that are behind objects and terrain which I agree with but it will be interesting to lock and fire missiles using the floating arm reticule.

So glad to have found this... Played lots and battletech in high school in the 80s and then in college in the early 90s. Loved the MW and the MechCommander series on PC. Loving the videos of the gameplay!

I'm an oldschool player aswell. Always preferred the pre clans era, lumbering around in a Warhammer or a Battlemaster or dashing across the map in a locust and holding my breathe every time i turned hoping i wouldn't skid. Oh for the days of single heatsinks.

Welcome!!

I'm in the 40s as well. I'm not much of an old school PnP player(I own a lot of pre-clan FASA stuff), but I have played computer based games: Mechforce(amiga), Btech 3056 MUSE(CHF-Jason Cutter and Clan Jaguar-Cutter), Mechwarrior 2 (Activision), and other BTECH MUSE/MUSH/MUX games.

I saw the latest video, and I was impressed with the combat. I'm really looking forward to this.

It's nice to see so many young guys taking an interest in BT. In my mid 60s and can hardly wait to show some of the really younger ones that you can't beat age and experience. Remember: Youth and inherent skill are no match for Age, Experience and Will!

Ah, the thing I love about this community. The oldies are still around and are not going to let the yougins think they own they place. I love it. Good to see the older people still active.

Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill.

Welcome to MWO FFoman.

May I suggest you start with the pinned thread,"New Players Start here" and the dev blogs.

It will get you caught up and answer the majority of your questions.
