Hey guys, first let me say AWESOME job so far. This game is like crack, except it wont ya know, kill you.

Anyway, I love the free to play model but I was surprised when I read that its TOTALLY free rather than sell the game and just not charge subscription fees. But that made me think, yes I have no doubt that many players will spend money for the premium options, (myself included when I can afford it), but not only does that put your efforts and paychecks on the good will of the players, it's also kind of a gamble as to how much how often etc. Now we all hate ads on webpage's, we tend to either use TV commercial breaks to get a beer or fast forward them when it's on the DVR, but when you're driving down the highway there's no way to block out billboards, park bench ads, bus', etc. Advertising is around us in our daily lives, and except for the annoying pop-up's on our web pages they're pretty innocuous. (I do have a point I promise, I also promise that I'm coming to it soon)

So far we only see the few maps of the beta, but they all have one thing in common; they all have human made structures in them. buildings etc. So, if real cities have billboards, ads on bus', semi trailers etc, why not put some in the city-scapes etc of the game maps? I've seen trucks parked in the city map, a few billboards here and there wouldn't hurt anything, and could even give us places to lay ambushes or just use as concealment in general. So a few billboards or whatnot in the game would make your cities look like RL cities, it's just that instead of them having fictitious ads for companies in the game world, they are for Mt Dew. and since the environment isn't destructible, no worry about us blowing them up at the beginning of each match.

Would these ad spaces make you rich? not likely. Might they cover the cost of booze and strippers for the xmas party? maybe. would they bother us as gamers enough to lose players? well I won't speak for my fellow mech pilots, but I for one wouldn't be the least bit buggered about it and my guess is that anyone who is bothered by it:
• doesn't know how the world works
• is too stupid to live anyway
• is 9
I just see the amount of work that's gone into the game to THIS point and can only imagine what's to follow and I would hate to see this not last due to your generosity in making it not only free to play but free to download as well. I know many of my fellows may scoff at the idea; but if they think about it, and think about the amount of time you've put into this, and realize that it would be no more intrusive than a movie advertised on the side of a bus, I think you'll find that we as a community wouldn't be the least bit bothered a'tall about it.

Just a thought. If you implement it feel free to throw me a few cbills Or not, I'll still play anyway lol.
