hrm interesting if you want a full leangth animation with a story probably best to follow a unit of the clans on their perspective of clan invasion as the BT animated cartoon was on the perspective of the IS with the perspective of the clans might be a neat take on the invasion

Currently I'm going with the Refusal War. It's the war between Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Wolf and is the plot of the game Mechwarrior 2.
Quite a while ago I found this short Video on YouTube and it's still one of my favorites when it comes to believable Mech Animation: I wish MWO would have their Legs animated like this or at least like they were during MW3 / MW4 era... 10+ Years ago.
This will now be a feature length film. (90 minutes)

I've decided to create a short 2-3 minute CGI fan film.
I will be deviating from my normal style and will be using CelShading to create a new and interesting look.
At the moment I have about 70 different mechs (modeled, rigged, and textured) to use in this animation, the only issue is the story. I'd originally planned to just have a handful of mechs wailing on each other with lasers, machine guns, autocannons, and missiles mindlessly. However, that gets boring after a while.
I'd like to see what kinds of stories the fan base would like to see, and then I will make it.
So, simply post what kind of story you would like to see (It doesn't have to be canon or anything) and which 'mechs you would like included. If you get mech specific in the story I only ask that you include at least a Bushwacker and Catapult as I just made them for this occasion. Dialogue may not be possible (due to lack of willing voice talents), so try not to use it in the story. I will probably be picking and choosing stories that I like and merging them together for the final product.
Here is a short test with the just the 'mechs.
I loved your work. Cel-Shading is definitely a nice effect.
My suggestion for script is the Battle of Twycross (Refusal War), ending with the death of Natasha Kerensky. It's epic, and shows Jade Falcons and Wolves killing the crap of each other.
As you are having all the trouble to model and animate this, I think you can dig some more for voice talents. You don't even need to show the pilots inside the cockpits, but radio communication would be essential to make the movie understandable.
PS: don't try to show too many different events in a single movie (several different missions of MW2) - it just won't clue each other.
This is very awesome and I hope you and your buddies can finish this project to the end.
Just one suggestion: I noticed you had (intentionally or unintentionally) incorporated some camera shake (0:39-0:41) for close-up animations of walking mechs. Rather than bobbing the camera around to the rhythm of the leg movements, which is very disorienting, I suggest you quickly shake the camera in small vibrations each time a foot hits the ground.
