Hi everybody,

when i am playing MWO i miss the female computer voice we had in the other parts of mechwarrior. She alway told me more or less usefull things like "heat level critical", "damage critical" or "shutdown imminent" *g*.

She is not just a nice feature, she also helps you in the heat of the battle (you dont have to look at your heat level after every shot).

With this voice the game would feel more complete to me.

What do you think?

Eartha Kitt would have been ideal.

Im not sure its really needed, once your withen a critical heat or damage your get a big red visual right infront of your eyes, and for critical damage you get the constant reminder from that insesent alarm in your ear. The shutdown thing was never useful i dont need her to tell me im shutting down .. i can see it.

Besides you should be able to get a handle on how many sustained shots you can get off before you shutdown, its all part of learning how to be a better pilot it should become second nature, the only time i ever push myself to the point of shutting down is if i know im not in any danger of being taken out and the shot that puts me over might kill the other guy, other then that its not worth it a shut down mech is an dead mech 9 time out of ten

I not essentially need a "voice" to handle my mech. But it feels a lot better with one.

I sit in a huge futuristic battle machine, i think its only logical that these tings talk to me *g* Tody even my smartphone talks to me, so i really think a battle mech should do ;-)

"Siri, what's our current power level?"
"Our current power level is over 9000"

This mirrors my own feelings on the subject. I am fine with how it works now, but as I understand the voice used to be a fairly characteristic feature for previous games - and things such as the startup sequence (even featured in MWO's own launch trailer) are nice for immersion.

I'd like this as an option, perhaps with a "mute" toggle in the options.

The devs have promised us a B*tchin' Betty so I would bet money that she'll be in sooner rather than later.

The placeholder sound files are already in place, just not tied to status changes/ occurrences.

B*tching Betty will be in game eventually.

"Heat level critical"
"Shut down sequence initiated"
"Shut down sequence overriden"

I second that. Even their teaser trailer for the Mechwarrior reboot had that female voice. In 'Mech combat, it's all about awareness. Even though I have visual cues, audible cues are important, too.

A must-have feature for a MW game! And yes, I remember this to be a planned feature.

Do we actually have confirmation of this? I miss the "reactor online, sensors online, weapons online" line...

"Heat level critical... Shutting down"

// **clicks 'o' repeatedly**

"I would highly advise against that, Commander, heat level critical"

// **clicks 'o' repeatedly**

"As you wish, Commander"

**Fightmaster's Jenner erupts in a ball of twisted metal and flame**

"...I told you....... *****.... . . . Shutdown complete"

I'd pay money for that :)

That was my startup .wav for the longest time. Sadly I've lost it. If I ever hear that when powering up for a match I just might have to change my shorts and smoke a cigarette afterward.
