One of the things that made MPBT (I mean EGA and Solaris, not 3025) a solid and outstanding game is that it had house leadership past regimental command to help keep people together. Will this also have house command or will separate regiments (IE guilds) just run around like in any other MMO type game?

There won't be a "House Leader" that a player can emulate per say. The "House Leader" would be the canon faction head at the current time period you are playing online.
Most likely the Great Houses will be broken down into regiments where then a traditional gaming clan would fill in, with a clan leader being the regiment leader, etc. Also -- if that is the case most likely gamers within the same Great House on their "Conquest Mode" will probably not be pitted against each other and will likely always be paired with other players or regiments who align themselves to the same.
For Instance, I consider myself House Kurita. I enter a conquest mode with my regiment. Then say we are paired against House Davion. To fill in remaining spots, other regiments or freelancers from House Kurita will join on my side, other regiments or freelancers will join on the Davion side.
Hope that sorta clears things up.

I'm under the impression that we are all mercs anyway so there won't be a "house" player leadership.
"Another major part of the game is customization and organizing into mercenary units, Ekman explains. ”Players will be able to band together in the format of a lance, which is four, and they’ll be able to band together as a mercenary corporation for hire. That’s not unlike a guild. We have a whole editor and mercenary HQ for players to explore that allows them to customize the look and feel of their corporation, their membership, the structure of how they enter battle, the lances, their names, ranks, and all kinds of things.”
And ehre again they are talking about mercenary corporations, which are really the typical MMO guilds.

It'll be inevitable for player groups to coalesce into canon factions. But there've been a lot of 'mech games with equally as many faction leaders. And already it seems like a few people are trying to stake their claim as a House Lord.
How it'll be settled will undoubtedly be up to the players themselves. The immersion that this can create is invaluable to the gaming experience.
Having had a taste of upper echelon ranks in MPBT, I'd rather stick with a low level command. Faction politics absolutely ruined my enjoyment in a number of games.

My hope is that they go the way that WWII Online went as far as command structure.
I think that in a territorial game, as this has been promised to be, it is important to be able to establish a chain of command and to be able to establish resource alotment to maintain territories and the ability to hold and conquor them.
I just see being able to establish a command structure when you are talking about fighting on this scale as too important to leave up to random potluck leadership.

Granted, Im not talking about nominating people as part of the households.. just a part of the houshold military with sufficient power to have that level of command.

The last thing I want is to have some arbitrary popular dude from some big guild being able to dictate how I play. You wanna call big shots? Run your own merc company. I'm perfectly happy leaving the faction story stay purely NPC/GM controlled.
