So here is the thing, I am a Mac user predominantly, so naturally I am curious about this game, and whether it, like more and more video games, will be able to be played on OSX as well as Windows 7. it is not like the old days of 1996 when less then 10% of Desktops were Macs. there are Mac Users out there who remember and enjoyed Mechwarrior 2 and it's expansions, and want to play this game as well.

if so great, if not there are ways around it I will have to use, thankfully they do not involve me buying an 1100 dollar piece of **** that allows me to play only one game.

So far nobody can tell you anything besides this:

Q. Will MechWarrior® Online™ be PC exclusive?

A. At this time we have no plans to take MechWarrior® Online™ to any other platforms.

If this includes Linux or Mac... we don´t know. :)

PC does not mean Windows exclusive though. Starcraft II is touted as PC exclusive and I played it on my Mac yesterday without having to use Playsonamac or bootcamp

Technically it's doable because the Unreal 3 Engine now supports OSX and iOS out of the box. However there are other issues. The Microsoft Licence may not allow the game to be released on anything other than Windows. There is also a question of technical support costs. It seems very likely, as sucky as it might be for Mac users, that it will be a Windows only game, I hope I am wrong as I don't own a Windows based PC ;-)

The other problem is DirectX, There is no DirectX support in OSX, you need emulation I believe.

If this game works on my Mac I may quite literally cry tears of joy.

If push comes to shove you always have bootcamp.

If "pc" doesn't mean "windows" I will be surprised.

Not a mac fan, but I'm always for expanding games to additional platforms as long as it doesn't delay the game any further than otherwise.

Pretty much this. Unless the developers are 100% sure they can make a profit from making their game OSX-compatible, don't expect it unless it's announced.
