If this topic is about the tabletop then my longest game is 13 hours, in Megamek though. Was my fault, as I oversized the map a bit (100 x 100). We needed 8 hours just to find the opposing team.
If it would have been the actual board game then it would have taken probably 26 hours.

My buddies and I dusted off my TT gear and I resurrected my old mercenary unit and threw a campaign together a few years ago. The longest battle though lasted 12-14 strait hours as we played to a decisive total annihilation. It was pretty epic. We had this one Hatchetman who took out 4 mechs by itself including an assault mech. I also remember a wounded Witworth kicking out the legs of an Archer! I love me some Withworth!!

What is this "Table MechWarrior"? I only know of MechWarrior the PC action simulator, and Battletech the Table Top. You confuse me...

MechWarrior is a role-playing game (RPG) based on and set in the BattleTech universe. The player usually takes on the role of a MechWarrior, but other career paths are available (increasingly so in later iterations of the game). The RPG was intended to expand a player's experience beyond just the board game aspect. It allows them to create a character who could then earn experience both in 'Mech combat and in role-playing scenarios. The character's experience could then be used to improve their board game skills (particularly in Piloting and Gunnery) and other RPG skills.
I think the video games are called MechWarrior because you are playing the game from the Pilots point of view.

I have been playing BattleTech and MechWarrior since the 90s. We have had campaigns last years. The current campaign I am in started 3 1/2 years ago in 3024. We play every other Saturday for about 12+ hours each time. We are currently in the 3070s and will be ending our campaign at the end of the Jihad, 3080s. So we have about another year to go.
Our biggest battle was a Merc unit we had. It had what we called a CAB (Combined Arms Brigade= 1 Regiment of Mechs, 2 Regiments of Vehicles, 4 Regiments of Mixed Infantry and an Air Wing (This was after 30 years of Game time). The Air Wing included our Tranports.) against a like sized unit. This was like 15 years ago. From what I remember the world we were contracted to invade took weeks. And we were getting together several times a week.

I just played the TT game for the first time today. I only played a beginner's scenario, (a Hunchback vs. a Centurion) and it was pretty much over in three turns. Cored the Centurion in the first exchange (turn 2) with the AC/20, and scored a hit on it's engine. On turn 3, hit with the AC again, wrecked the left leg, (critical hits to the hip and upper leg actuator) the Centurion failed the piloting roll, and fell on it's CT, rolled for criticals on the falling damage (5 points) and wound up with 7 crits. Hit the Gyro, took out both lasers, and scored two more hits on the engine, at that point, I didn't even bother checking whether or not the pilot was still conscious, since the mech was dead as it hit the ground. As for the Hunch it took ten points of damage to it's left torso, and was never hit again.
Lesson learned: Hunchbacks in TT are absolute beasts, especially if you get lucky on your rolls.

OP asks about longest MW TT game. MW in TT was the roll playing game where you got rolled characters and basically did everything both in and out of a battlemech. Just like D&D was.
For me it was just shy of three years, playing Friday through Sunday with requests and resupply orders going in on Tuesdays and getting news for the upcoming weekends on Thursdays. There were ten of us playing in that group with a damn good Game Master. The Beer Stores loved us and the Pizza Delivery guys knew who we were by name and what our orders were. Those were some great times, to bad deployments ended that fun forever. Miss you Cowboy and Ready Reith, your mechs will always be ready.

I played the Mechwarrior tabletop RPG on and off for decades. Our campaigns would last from 6 months to 2 years. The last one ended in 2006 and we had an awesome GM who handled the out-of-mech scenarios every bit as well as the 'mech combat. To top it all, he wrote the campaign himself (he's deep into the Lore) and we were a merc company in the employ of House Liao (he likes underdogs) with customized 'mechs (half the fun of Mechwarrior was designing your 'mechs as well as your mechwarriors).

I made a mistake before when I stated how long my current campaign has been going on. We had a session this past weekend so we calculated how long we have been meeting for this campaign.( 2 times a month, 10 hour each time we meet.) We have been doing it for the past 7 1/2 years. The DM is planning on finishing it at the end of this year.

The group I was with felt to a lesser or greater extent that mechwarrior as a paper and dice roll play game didn't translate very well. as after non mech situations it was allways resolved on maps using battle tech.
can't remember exactly how long the longest was but the areospace/dropship phase took 5-6 hours including set up, planet assault with a regiment of 5 battalions 3 mech 2 ground vehicles and we played at least 3 hours a night for 3 days a week, and didn't finish it after two months.
which wasn't as long as the world war two naval campaign I was involved in which went on for over 5 months with at least 2 hours a night and a lot more weekends

The group I played with in high school once did a full regiment vs regiment planetary assualt with Aerotech. (1990 no naval assets) There were about eight of us and we split into two teams and played the whole thing out. The lady at the Kinkos must have thought we were crazy. We spent a lot of dollars on record sheets. We did it over summer vacation and it took almost a month. So many good battles in that one.
But if you want to talk about long games, try the Succession Wars out. I don't know that we have ever finished a game of that even with truly marathon sessions.
