Yes I'm sure some of the folks here run BOINC already for various projects but perhaps we could see if we could make our own SETI@home team , Einstein@home , Milkyway@home and so on teams. In this way we could use our computers for something else then blowing up giant robots (or use them fooor SCIENCEEEE when they aren't used for gamin. or something)

does this sound silly?

Before you do, keep in mind that it keeps your computer running at ~90% capacity. This means a higher electric bill and shorter component life.
