That atlas is crotch thrusting. You cannot unsee it.

Melee options: Punch, Kick, or 100 ton crotch thrust of death.

Adult Swim's Robot Chicken already has the humping robot. BTU was too late. Might be another Harmony Gold all over again. Oh well, if the game dies tomorrow in some hot lawyer on lawyer action, I blame YOU in advance :(

Atlas' cockpit is situated in the nose of the head. The central position, as the cut-out above shows. The eyes - as far as I know - are positions for technical hardware (like sensors, computers etc.)
MWO devs, placed it in the eye. Which is somehow wrong I guess as there isn't any blind spots on either side when looking out of the cockpit. Shouldn't be a blind-spot to the right if the cockpit was in the left eye? In the Hunchback you can clearly see the right-shoulder mounted AC from the cockpit.

Also factor this: the nose make perfect sense. As the head is rounded, the plex-steel will also have a rounded shape following the surface of the head. Thus, no blind-spots. But if you put the cockpit in either eye, even with the roundness of the head you'd still have a blind spot plus the forward image will clearly be AND feel off-set to one side. :(

Yeah, FD is a great dude. I got to know him from MWLL forum, he's a really great guy, like a Good Guy Greg of BT fandom. :( His BT art is just perfect, and he always comes up with excellent ideas regarding game design too. It's really great that we have him as MWO concept artist.

Yeah, that FD is a pretty cool guy. He draws wicked cool artwork and doesn't afraid of anything.

I love the artwork, but not only that....the engine. Often times you'll see concept art that looks amazing. Then your dissapointed because the game engine can't do all the intricate details. NOT HERE BOY! OH NO! WE GET IT IN ALL ITS 3 DIMENSIONAL GLORY. KEEP IT COMING!

FD's art is incredible. I'm glad they got FD to do the reimaging of the Mechs. Nobody does it better, IMHO.

I like the fact that the new renderings are still in line with the originals. It is difficult in the extreme to to what he has done - give them a completely new look but still be instantly recognizable as the mechs we know and love. Great job!
