Let's not also forget that it's possible to operate a 'mech outside of it's normal rated walking/running speed. you can get the boogers to sprint, the downside being that the pilot is so busy trying to keep the mech balanced that no fighting is possible ... or any fancy moves.
I really don't like the idea of being allowed to change the engines... it simply allows to much min-maxing in a video game format. The 'mechs have a pretty wide operating envelope already.

The option of more engine choices is not new.

I'm primarily interested in the alternate engine types, like Light, XL, etc. The choice of risking XL will be a big one.
