The first one? Best. Movie. Ever.

They're remaking the first one, AND adding a Starship Troopers video game this summer.

LOVE THIS YEAR ALREADY!!!!!!!!

(And rumors of a SteamBox, sick controller, looks to have a trackball + analog stick, trackball on the left, reversed buttons from the PS3 controller.

Why pray tell redo the 1st movie? It is awesome as is. The sequels however sucked ball. Not to mention the SSTs pc game they made, that REALLY blew monkies. lol

why does hollywood insist on burying their rotting dead under more corpses. just cover them with dirt and let the bad movies fade away

The only thing good about Starship Troopers (which varied WILDLY from the book) is that Joss Whedon was able to use the battle armor from that movie in Firefly.

Starship Troopers was classic sci-fi cheese, I loved it. I don't see a remake becoming nearly as memorable.

As entertainment... ST was barely ok. As a movie made from a book... good god did it SUCK! I'm surprised that Mr. Heinlein didnt rise from his grave and hunt down those ***** writers responsible for that fiasco.

The only Good thing about the SST movies was the Redheads ****!!!! AND THAT WAS ONLY IN THE FIRST ONE (and they weren't even that big)..... the other 2 made B movies look bad and that is really saying something

Any of you ever watch Starship Troopers Chronicles?

Had okay episodes and a few decent ones in season 1.

*blinks*

Hollywood really is out of ideas. Sigh.

Heinlein's book was a masterpiece. The first movie was...ok...for a B flick that had almost nothing to do with the book, was drowned in fake blood, and gave the guys a treat. The other movies were worse than the second and third Matrix movies.

I suspect that Heinlein's ghost is waiting in the afterlife for the souls of those who were responsible for these abominations, and I am guessing he will be carrying a very sharp and very pointy stick.

Hated the movie. If they actually do the movie like the book, it should be good.

I must agree, if the remake is going to relate well to the book, then finally is the SST series done justice.

the first one AWESOME? not even close. the movies ignored 1/2 of the book... and then had the audacity to turn the whole thing into a semi-comedy... sheesh. get the book and read it for crying out loud

I have read the book. I just didn't expect the movie to stick to it, and as such I enjoyed the movie.

Hollywood has been bending IPs over and stuffing them in the ****** for longer than either of us has been alive. It may have been a bad adaptation of the book, but it wasn't an out-and-out bad movie.
Wow, it censored ******? It damn near killed 'um.

I for one, as a guy whose read both the book and seen the movie, loved the flick. I recognize that it had almost nothing to do with the actual novel, other than the bugs, but its not a bad movie. Its camp was its charm and . . . . . . . NPH!

Also Starship Troopers the book would make for an excruciatingly boring movie. Very good book and one of my all-time favorites but as a movie, meh.
