With there high explosive splash damage the SWARM of MC2 were maybe some of the DF-LRMs from Tactical Handbook dealing the damage of a SRM - the development of MRMs and MMLs made them obsolete however.

The lock of the LRMs in MW must be the same as with a firing solution for a torpedo of a submarine...that meens with the actual direction and speed of the target you will hit it. When the salvo is in the air and the target doge you may miss.

Considering this point of view...what about achieving target lock in every position of you reticle - if you hit is no depending on the position of your torso, too. If the target stood still and you didn't move, using a low angle the lock is achived in split seconds.
Is the target moving with 100kph and you are running behind you maybe need some seconds to get lock....and so on

To make them active lock and mobile enough to hit a target may be the easier way to implement.

LRM dodging needs to be extremely difficult and situational.

I want it in the game, but it needs to be incredibly hard to do reliably. I don't care if that means 95% of the playerbase never work it out. If 50% of the people I'll be shooting at can do it, or even 10% consistently in flat terrain, LRMs will never be used among good pilots.

Also, LRMs could be dodged in MW4, if you knew how.

In the TT the whole evasion issue was factored in by the varying numbers of missiles from one salvo that hit. Will be interesting to see how MWO tackles that, I just hope it won't come down to only mere "twitch skills". Because in that case it might probably be barred to a large part of the playerbase for simple technical reasons (aka connectivity/lag/ping delays).

Watching the gameplay trailer, I can't help but think that LRMs are done. Finished. Coded. Ready for launch. Unless a developer from Piranha tells us otherwise, I'd suggest that they work. We'll see the exact details when we start firing them at each other in the summer. Until then we're just guessing about something that's probably already been sorted. :D
